We’ve already got an asexual goose and a sexual goose, an immaculate conception goose was surely only a matter of time.
 
Today I decided I've have a somewhat healthy dinner of veggie skewers. Just red onion, button mushroom, and red, green and yellow peppers with a bit of garlic olive oil brushed on them then stuck them on the George Foreman. Although they were tasty enough it has to be said that they'd have been even better with chunks of steak on them too. I don't know how vegetarians do it, I was starving again an hour and a half later and I had basically eaten a whole box of mushrooms, three large peppers and an onion.

The vet rang with dearest Ridley's test results. Good news is he doesn't have cancer or anything horrid but he might have something quite rare called Panniculitis that causes inflammation of the fatty tissues. We're leaving it for a few weeks as he's due for his 6-monthly checkup in September and will see whether the lump gets bigger in the meantime.

So yeah, my dog's a fatrops.
 
Trying to buy a flat is starting to MAKE ME PANIC. Where am I going to LIVE Moopy?

I've just an offer in to my fourth flat in as many days.

I thought I had a chance of getting the last flat I wanted for in or around valuation but it turns out the owner wants 20k over that :D Which I would DO, but the flat is the most expensive two bed in the surrounding area by quite a bit, and it needs new windows (they're single glazed), a new kitchen and a whole decorative job as she has very old fashioned taste including sanding those horrid walnut floors. OKAY HUN, now I know why your flat has been on the market for so long. :eyes:

Keep looking! That sounds far from ideal and I'm sure there MUST be better out there, even for 10k over your budget - but you really want something tangible for the extra £20k!
 
We saw some awful places before we saw where we now live - it was a bit over our budget but not too much and it was at LEAST twice as nice as the other places we'd seen, so I'm really glad we didn't go for any of the okay but not that great ones. I think we did get lucky but do you feel lucky @SDF? :disco:

I put an offer in to a place tonight that’s actually ticking many boxes, close to the gym/train station and has double glazing etc already. It’s not as nice a flat on the inside, but it’s definitey more financially doable. The only thing I’m not mad about is that the living and kitchen are kind of at angles. It also needs a new kitchen but I think I can do that with the money I have left over. Operative word being think. :D

The flat's I've put offers in to have all been Southside.

The flat that wanted 260k, but was valued at 240k was in Queens Drive - so a really nice area, but honestly it had so much needing done to it.

The flat I was outbid on earlier this week was Strathbungo, so again, lush area.

I'd also consider West End and Dennistoun, although I know the latter a lot less than the West End or Southside.
 
It’s been a long time since I’ve lived in Glasgow but 260k for a flat in the south side that needs work sounds pretty STEEP.
 
There's no getting away from it. It IS steep.
 
Wow at those flat prices @SDF! I'm gobsmacked. Spawn is looking at houses just outside Blackpool and I told her that £280k was way overpriced for a new-build detached 4-bedroom.

Hope you find something very soon.
