Yeah. It seemed to be really outperforming X Factor which it probably still is but it is about HALF it’s usual viewership. I would be interested to see how the Saturday night Semi’s are doing.
 
The whole diversity controversy may have brought in extra viewers on catch up for last weeks show. I thought the routine was INCREDIBLE.
 
That episode was just the recap of everyone who had been put through in March from the auditions, no?

It's just over 2m down on BGT The Champions at the same time last year.

By comparison, Corrie is just over half a million up on the same time last year.
 
Leaving aside his health, I'm DELIGHTED at this downward spiral of Simon Cowell. X Factor run into the ground, record label gone and now his big remaining cash cow on the decline.

He's been so smug for so, so long.
 
It's been almost 20 years. The decline seems inevitable. They began to look like relics about 6 or 7 years ago. Now they're just embarrassing.

BGT is dross.
 
Oh my GOD. That is really bad. Surely, it can’t fall much lower.
 
BGT apparently got 5.4 million last week and 4.95 million in the overnights from last night.
 
I imagine the BGT Diversity performance has been rinsed on YouTube or ITV player whatever. That seems to be what Cowell falls back on these days as being relevant.
 
The figures are pretty terrible across the board. Is still being Top 5 in the most watched tv programmes of the week still deemed as a success? I suppose it’s all relative.
 
The autumn TV season seems to be starting on ITV, though the BBC don't seem to be offering much yet. I imagine David Tennant in Des will pull in the numbers and there is the allegedly iffy The Singapore Grip starting tonight.

It was nice having Gogglebox back this week too.
 
@Rita New chart to follow when I'm not on my phone, but Britain's Got Talent was the #1 show of Aug 31 - Sept 6, with just over 7m.
 
That is a couple of million down on last year I think, but I suppose if it is the most watched show it must still be deemed as a success.

I think it compares well to The Champions, but down on the last regular series.

That's an astonishing figure for All Creatures Great And Small on Channel 5. Surely one of their highest ever?
 
All Creatures Great And Small added a further 1.086m for the Sunday repeat as well. As that was a separate broadcast, the figure isn't added. Seems a bit ODD when if you watched on My5 it would have, but there you go.

This. I gave my Dad my netflix login right at the start of lockdown, and he’s never off the bloody thing.
 
That is AMAZING figures for Channel 5. I didn’t even know the show even had a buzz surrounding it.
 
The first episode of Des got 5.4m in the overnights, the biggest ITV drama of the year (just above Quiz's 5.3m). Held up to 5.2m for the last part.

EastEnders bosses must be thrilled that their new reportedly £87m set is almost complete, just as it returns to nearly a million viewers less than Repair Shop :bruised:
 
Change in viewing figure for the soaps, compared to a year ago:

Coronation Street up 0.481m (+7.6%)
Emmerdale down 0.328m (-5.8%)
EastEnders down 1.26m (-23.7%)
 
Is it the older generation that keep Corrie going? I dip in and out of them all but have my finger on the pulse more with Eastenders than any of the rest of them.
 
I imagine it's got the oldest following of the three soaps, yes. And they are probably more loyal as well. Apart from the dying bit.
 
Do we think Strictly will still average at about 10 million viewers? I can’t think of anything else that gets viewing figures quite as big.

Eastenders is definitely better in QUALITY in my eyes, so it must be down to the fact that some have stuck with it through most of its 50 odd? years.

IACGMOOH apparently gets around the same amount of viewers as Strictly, but everything seems to look like it has taken a fair dip (apart from Corrie) although it may just be that viewing figures are just down across the board.
 
The figures breakdown the live viewing, viewing on same day as live (VOSDAL) and time shifted (within 7 days) viewing. For the soaps this is how they break down:

Coronation Street 66% live/ 21% VOSDAL/ 13% time shifted
Emmerdale 74% live/ 18% VOSDAL/ 8% time shifted
EastEnders 65% live/ 21% VOSDAL/ 14% time shifted

So not a huge difference really.

The last couple of series dipped a little but I expect so.

The ratings for the alternative IACGMOOH will be interesting this year.

I think in terms of quality it's probably difficult to be objective, isn't it? I haven't watched any of them for ages (and Emmerdale not since it dropped the 'Farm'), but when I did used to watch EE and Corrie, it was more a difference of tone over quality, I'd say.
