Wednesday charges £500 for an autograph

Travelodge are refusing to issue a voucher refund for the booking I made on 2nd September because the booking is too recent. I’ve been through their terms and conditions for saver rate ticket refunds during Covid 19, and this rule doesn’t exist. By their OWN FUCKING T&Cs I’m entitled to a refund. I’ve currently argued this with two reps on the phone and their customer services via chat, and I’ve publicly asked for a refund via Twitter. Seriously, they’re literally scamming me at this point - what can I do?
Anyone have any idea how I can take this further. @dmlaw do you operate on a no-win-no-fee basis? If so, I think we have a case.

I've dealt with a *lot* of claims of this sort during lockdown. Just double check the ts and cs and be ready to forward them to yr bank - they;ll need them to support the claim.

Honestly, there's a real post-COVID shitlist of scammers, fibbers and general bastards when it comes to stuff like this. Most of them have been shamed in the media; the BBC did articles about Ryainair, Virgin, British Airways and that bunch who do holiday lets of cottages and stuff...Hoseasons, that's them.

If you paid on yr credit card do a chargeback on the basis that they;re not abiding by their own Ts and Cs. Even tho' you've cancelled the booking, it can be done as "not as described" because they're not following the terms under which you made the booking.
Never done that before, but it was mega easy to request one. Fingers crossed I hear something back soon - cheers for the tip!

It's a bit outside my area of expertise, so I believe that my considered legal advice would involve driving a JCB through their front window.*

*May lead to imprisonment.
I see no reason to question the advice of a legal mastermind.

All the travel agents are being screwed over by the airlines. The airlines are prioritising refunds for their direct customers and leaving the travel agents to stew because they know that they're not going to get the heat OR the chargeback: so the airline have your money but your contact is with lastminute so that's who gets the chargeback. So people like lastminute or Expedia or Opodo (the latter being the absolute fucking worst) are all daily occurrences on the chargeback lists.

What a shambles and presumably NOT good news for the future of the agencies.

I'm surprised more of them haven't gone under. A second lockdown and the enforced cancellations therefrom would finish several.
