I'm seriously considering entering this, but first I'd like to ask:
does a cover version of something that was only released as an instrumental in its original form count or not?

EastEnders theme / Anyone can fall in love?

More of an I'll Always Believe In You fan? Fair enough, it is quite the bop:

In my dream world, Eternal would have recorded this for their debut album and released it as the follow up single to Stay.

I’m not sure why nobody is listening to ButterTart telling us that it’s not open yet and asking about the rules :D

might as well just launch it otherwise and save the hassle?

Oh I read his post as we're all systems go NOW. You're right though

I really am struggling with this. I don't know whether to go for a really WELL KNOWN song which was covered, or a really OBSCURE one where no one would have heard the original anyway.

I’d err on the side of well known. Part of the fun for me is seeing something we all know completely turned on it’s head.

Personal preference only, mind. Ultimately I’d rather you go for whichever song you like most.

I would agree, I would probably punish a song I didn't already know in some form, because then it wouldn't really feel like a cover to me.

I look forward to it. I also hope you have some juicy annexes in there too covering acoustic versions done by the original artist.
I meant to mention that. Subsection 11F states covers by the original artist are only acceptable if they’re significantly different to the original, or if they feature an another singer or producer alongside them.

So the updated version of Wuthering Heights from The Whole Story isn’t eligible, but 2 in a Room ft. Kate Bush - Wuther It (Just a Little Bit) is absolutely fine.

Oh I would have been thrilled if Tracy popped up in the playlist.

There's a fab Dana cover of an old Italo-disco hit that has the most menacing phlegm-lubricated Hebrew I've ever heard on record, but it's not on Spotify and I decided to aim for top 20 this time.

I have something really special that especially Steps fans will not appreciate. If anyone wants it my DMs are open.:)

Erm huns can we stop posting videos

just in case :eyes:
