I always go with my gut and send a song really early on. It’s quite the treat to watch people slowly unravel as the submission deadline looms.

I think I'm down to two possible song choices. My favourite of them is quite long, quite slow, the original isn't all that well known and it will liked by nobody except Chlammy. The other possibility is much livelier and will undoubtedly do much better, but I don't like it quite as much.

I'm more torn than Lucille's hole on the third evening of a bank holiday weekend.

I know people are keeping to their own rules on this one, but remember there's nothing in the guidelines to say they can't be well known..,

I think this competition is different to other ASFM in that well known is acceptable. It’s more discovering versions that maybe people weren’t aware were out there. The other contests lean more to discovering unknown songs/acts.

Me personally I'm looking more forward to hearing new versions of songs I know than I am completely new songs. I get the impression that's generally the position people have gone in.
