It's very rare for her to take such clear political stands, so when she does you know it's sincere and not self-righteous like most celebs these days.

I'm glad she chose to stand up for Breonna Taylor.

Wasn't the single switch from The One to Boy (I Need You) - using the same video?! - the strangest thing? Do we know why it happened? One of the comments mentioned JL* having a song called The One that was due to come out as a single :side-eye:

 
Pretty sure I read, or even heard her say, that it was a personal choice because "Boy (I Need You)" was one of her favorites on the album.

I also remember reading in other forums at the time that after TTR struggled a bit, they needed something more URBAN :eyes: (yes, cause that's always been Mimi's reasoning ever since 1998) so it was between this or You Got Me (which ended up being a promo single anyway? I don't remember clearly)

oh GOD remember the huge backlash the album got because of her whispery vocals ESPECIALLY in The One and Yours? I recall the Asian Mariah trolls at the Dot forum going all about how she was over and such. SUNGGHUUU!

I remember buying a 2CD re-release of this and I remember her babbling about it on her official website (I don't remember if this was real or making this up) how her voice was still in good shape hence how he sings with a fuller voice in the The One Remix :laugh:
 
I also remember reading that IRRESISTIBLE was going to be a third single, but got scrapped.

I'll always have a soft spot for CB.

Totally! Imagine working so closely with her, making gorgeous music together, only to end up gossiping publicly about her. He could easily have declined to comment at the very least.

Zero class.
 
In the original tease for MC30, I seem to recall a #Beautiful cover so I don’t think it’s over yet... maybe all efforts are focused on promoting the book and album, and it might all resume once they’re out
 
I do wonder what's happening in the memoir thread but I'm staying strong. Hope you're all enjoying yourselves
