The Admin Elections 2020 Results Thread

And it feels like the only reason we are not doing that is because the people running this only want two admins?

I think when you get three possible votes for five candidates, a majority not choosing to vote for a candidate is significant.
Yeah, but we don't know how many voted for only 2 candidates, so I didn't understand how you came up with 23 people not wanting them, some surely voted for at least one of them? That's whay I meant.

I'm no statistician but if 21 people voted Samuel and 21 voted Zen, and Indie got all the votes and octy most votes, that means nearly everyone voted for 3 doesn't it?

there were 44 people. 44+36+21+21+2 is 124 which means 2.8 votes per person so, yes, well over 50% of people voted for three admins.

there is no conspiracy here.

Why is there so much resistance to taking a sensible approach here and not disregarding 21 voters for each of them?

There’s an argument to say that you were only really voting for 2 of the roles anyway, because Indie is so important and required for the site to function.

respect the people who voted for both Samuel and Zen, and put it to a public vote.

Do we think it’s possible that the votes for me, Zengiraffe and Samuel may have been manipulated somehow? It would certainly answer some of the questions that have raised themselves tonight.

OMG RUSSIAN INTERFERENCE

SDF although I admire your Joan of Arc spirit, we cannot change rules that were set just because we don’t like the results; grade boundaries are there for a reason.

The decision for us to have three votes was never because we wanted three admin though, was it?

Because some Moopy dinosaurs think you're not good enough if you haven't been here forever. :emoji_shrug:

I'm one of the seemingly few who didn't vote for three.

Yes it was? You could vote for who you wanted and the number you wanted.

Personally I think it's a shame common sense isn't prevailing here. The idea behind these elections was to revamp the team at a time that Moopy is busy and thriving. More staff are needed. I hope that can at least be taken into account for the mod elections.

Is a conspiracy afoot? I've always said Moopy should be more like The Pelican Brief and it looks like I'm getting my wish. Can't wait for Stanley Tucci to pop round and shoot me in the spine!

I genuinely thought nothing had been decided between two/three and just voted for the two.

Very much agree with the second part, though.

So the likelihood is 40 out of 44 people voted in favour of there being 3 admin?

The max number of votes would be 134, so there’s a maximum of ten people who didn’t vote for three, I think. It’s pretty clear that the majority of people wanted three.

It’s not that 50% of people didn’t have confidence in either Samuel or Zen. Most people had to choose between them, I know for me it was a toss up. I’d have been happy with either of them. I’m sure most people would say the same.

Sorry Alla, but I find this post rude and uncalled for.
I wasn't trying to be rude! And I understand in some way that it takes time to trust people, but come on. Sorry if I offended anyone :shy:

Amen sister!

It's obviously correct to say that neither Zen nor Samuel won going by the rules, but it's wrong to say there wasn't appetite from voters for a third admin. Anyway, we are where we are

I take great insult to that dinosaur comment.

I mean @lolly isn’t THAT OLD

Exactly what @Tisch said, let common sense prevail and not hide behind (what is in my eyes) a very stupid rule that’s always going to make it so very difficult for anyone who isn’t already in role to win enough votes

I’m actually really angry at this. The only loser in this whole thing is not Zen or Samuel but Moopy.

Why can’t anything here be simple

Indeed. You try and do something that people asked for, that they were given a week to think about and even comment on, yet no one does. Then when the results don't go the way you want them to, people want to pick fault.

I'm not suprised in this current attack climate that people don't feel like posting.

As I said earlier, I've done what I said I would. I'm now finished and hand you all over to your admin, which incidentally I'm glad I'm not admin anymore because I can't deal with this constant attacking culture on here. You can't do right for wrong.

While I'm genuinely sad not to at least have my other pick on board, we've got Indie and Octy which means we're in pretty good shape anyway.

Now can we PLEASE move on to the mod elections because that one's got me in and that's all I really care about.
