My question is what happens if say, Indie goes on holiday or gets ill and the site goes down or we have an attack? How do we deal with that? Indie does a stellar job but right now he is the only one who has the access and the skills to be able to fix any serious problems that may occur. The thought of having a third admin with the technical skills was to ease the burden and help out.

As I said before NO ONE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE RULES AT THE START. At the risk of breaching the current spirit of peace and tolerance, can we seriously GET A FUCKING GRIP. We are talking about the admin of a FORUM not NUCLEAR WEAPONS. The level of GENERAL WHINING when things don't go a certain way is becoming really quite unbearable on here.

I voted for 3 candidates and think tweaking the rules after the fact is rather ott. I'd have been happy with any combination that included Indie and Octo and would also be satisfied if all the others were mods. I'll also be fully transparent and say my 3rd vote was for Samuel (at least I think that's the username on the animal print straw I picked anyway - the other 2 had a Swedish flag and jewellers logo on them respectively).

If the website goes down and it's not due to any direct influence by me (yeah I've done that before, soz), then here's the procedure:

Email the host. Say, hello, my website isn't working, please make it work please ta.

(Edit: just to be clear that's not due to technical expertise in any way. There are two panels for admin to work from. If the website is down, they don't work either!)

I actually encourage more people to be available to do that. I'm happy to outline that for all mods.

I'm really quite sick of everything on Moopy being so much more complicated than it needs to be. There has been genuine talk of SUCESSSION PLANNING and TALENT MANAGEMENT in this thread which I consider to be excessive for an online forum. I come to Moopy to escape that sort of tedium.

Could I request that Admin conduct a full RISK IMPACT ASSESSMENT before running the next set of Moderator elections?

I'd have thought the mod election will be a bit different in that we have an undefined number of available posts (No exact number but Star told me it was 'a cunting fuckload'), so we'll probably be able to vote for more than three, and the threshold for election might be lower than 50%.

I actually genuinely didn’t know it was closing when it did, which is totally on me, as like you said “I’m always here” and 44 other people managed to see it and vote. So yeah, sorry about that. It doesn’t stop me having an opinion though when I feel like a significant proportion of people would like to see our admin team grow.

obviously that is a bit tongue in cheek, but indie isn’t going to do it forever? Like star before him, or Dr Lector ( ) before her. So wouldn’t it make sense to have a team of three, so that should any admin leave, there’s always enough hands on deck to pick up and cover things?

And ultimately, yes this is a forum, but if we are going to the lengths of elections in the first place, it obviously means something to some people
