Oh I had one of those once when I was HARD-UP and it wasn’t bad, took the guy 90 minutes though. I seem to remember a lot of FIT student barbers.

Went to a drive through test today. Someone in work tested positive and half the office has had colds this week. I’ve felt a bit rough myself.

the test centres are definitely like something out of a zombie movie. DON’T OPEN YOUR WINDOW PARK OVER THERE BEEP YOUR HORN IF YOU SLIP INTO A COMA etc etc

The one I took my sister to was in the sticks and was a lovely experience. Friendly smile, nice but safe chat and fully explained. Hazard lights to show that you were ready to hand it in.

Then I went to the city one the other weekend and got the apocalypse treatment.

Sounds from the ZOE report (which is always the most pessimistic) like the spread may be decelerating, in which case maybe the 'nudge' did help.

This is interesting.

(Still wouldn't read much into it, but further grasping for hope)

The optimist in me says that MAYBE this is a little bump reflecting the usual plague month when the kids go back to school and that we'll get another breather before it goes batshit around December when winter properly kicks in.
 
No, at least not to this degree... deaths are usually low after the weekend due to how they're reported but cases tend to be about normal, maybe a little lower. Tuesdays have a low case rate due to how home test kits are processed however.

No idea why it's such a massive drop this time - but the pattern the past few days is looking quite encouraging.
 
It's easier to get a positive response to optimism when numbers are going down than when they're shooting up :D

All any of us can do is guess and speculate. The government's soft touch actually being seen as a good response by Dr Campbell gives me some hope, but as he says, it's still going to be a tough winter.

The most I could muster was a flamingo facemask.

I picked the time of day deliberately though so it would be reasonably quiet and was quick as a whippet.

Picked up a tub of NUTRITIONAL YEAST before I dashed to the freezer section and then out!
 
I have just had to book a test after having a cough all morning. Thankfully it is only a ten minute walk away to where I need to go.

i don't think I'll be able to cope with the nose thing
