My Moopy Nightmare Monday

Maybe he is pushing for you to PROPOSE so he can get a visa ?

He’s not pushing anything! I’ve never really thought of getting married, or I hadn’t until I met him, weirdly.

A friend of mine's bf strung him along exactly like this for 7 years. Kept threatening to emigrate to Australia without any indication (or actual decision) if that meant with or without him. It was infuriating (for me, on the outside of it).

He sounds to me like a bit of a general FLAKE and/or a DRIP which you are definitely better of not picking up the bits he flakes/drips off constantly. Sorry that you've fallen for him because that's shit. But he sounds useless.

I wouldn’t say that, just being purposely non-forthcoming about the future. Not that that’s better. I don’t hate him but I need to find someone else so I can get over him

how are you holding up, @Dark Carnival luv? want me to pop over and fix you a cuppa?

The only thing worse than a fragile frenulum is a precarious perineum.

Oh, the chap for whom I did the host/presenting bit is well pleased with what I gave him so THAT'S NICE.

Honestly though you should see the badges these days, it's all mixology, meditation and aspirations.

I've spent the last few nights lying awake anxious about going into work even though I'm working with a kid who is a gift, am doing fine and know everyone in the place.

Imposter syndrome is the worst.

And there is a huge spider somewhere in my room that has since vanished.

NIGHT EVERYONE.

Bit late for a pep talk but I recently read something about imposter syndrome that really resonated with me, essentially it was saying that if you're getting imposter syndrome, its because you're pushing yourself to achieve something, rather than just drifting along being comfortable.

I've heard similar. And that the opposite of imposter syndrome is complacency.

I'm not saying everyone who doesn't have it is complacent, but I do think it's useful in terms of questioning exactly why you'd feel that way. There are some jobs where being complacent wouldn't necessarily be an issue, but I don't think teaching is one of them.

It's certainly helped me every time I've felt out of my depth in recent months, but I'm not going to lie, I sometimes miss not giving a fuck.

That's a nice way of looking at it. I definitely think there are people who can dive in at things and give it their best shot without thinking that everyone thinks they're awful at it though.
