Lana Del Rey - Chemtrails Over The Country Club

"Let Me Love You Like a Woman" is rumored to be coming this week. It appeared on Shazam, which historically did not happen for any previous release until within 7 days- usually less.

Haven't bought it. Might nab the CD if I ever see it at a fiver or so.

Is it on Spotify? I don’t feel especially compelled to pay for it and I’m sure she has enough money for dips and doughnuts so I won’t be consumed by guilt

When is the actual next album due again, please?
She told fans at a not so socially distant book signing that it was due "December 10th or January 7th". The latter date would be for a vinyl release as she said it takes an extra 11 weeks to press vinyls once the album is in the can. In classic Lana fashion, neither of these tentative dates actually falls on a Friday (the traditional release day for new music), and she was untruthful about the original September 5th date, so who knows. In any event, her more reliable manager confirmed the album was coming this year so December looks likely.

I'm just concerned that they haven't given us anything as they filmed a video for the title track over one month ago. Seems kind of strange to film a video during a pandemic if you are not actually planning on releasing it this year.

Taylor Swift: gets locked down, calls Antonoff and Aaron Dessner, releases a full album 4 months later.

Lana Del Rey: gets locked down, reads out her own poetry and goes "uhh, gimmie a minute, I need a nap"

While we wait - this "Riverside" collab with her ex-boyfriend is a rather wonderful curio I've never heard before:

So, apparently "Let Me Love You Like a Woman" is OUT THERE and the Lana loons HATE IT :D

I am saving judgment until it is formally released (tomorrow?)

I can't remember the last time I really liked a LDR song on first listen so I'll try not to jump to conclusions on this!

The artwork is very GCSE media studies project though isn't it?

if Lana's ongoing general meltdown has spilled over into the music, people are really gonna jump ship faster than a mask with holes can transmit a deadly virus!

Oh, I can't see the cover at work...I'll see if the 'net can find it for me...

She tweeted that selfie a few days ago. She was reported to have done several photoshoots in recent months so a bit ODD they chose that. However, the pre-NFR buzz tracks got a similar treatment. Hopefully she announces the album art/definite release date/pre-order today or tomorrow.

The title track is apparently the first "official" single and already received video treatment.

In other news, "The Blackest Day" Demo leaked yesterday - it is much more of a Born to Die feel:

For those of you in the right timezone:

It's a cute girl, but that's it :emoji_bow:

Not much progression from NFR, but has a slightly folksy piano-ballad early-70s vibe that I like. The bridge elevates it somewhat, but it's far too short. It just seems like a very odd song to launch an album campaign, even for her. "Chemtrails" next Friday, please.

New promo pic. Song's nice, but a bit basic. I don't see myself playing it again before the album's out

This new single seems a bit like a Lana PARODY? Maybe it will grow.

Not sure if I actually need MORE LANA right now if there's no apparent musical shift either. Something a bit fresher sounding like when Lust For Life (the track) plopped up would have been welcomed by me.

should have opted for Let Me Love You Like A Menstruator otherwise the song is pretty nice
