I’M OF THE GENERATION THAT CAN CHANGE THE CLOCK ON THE OVEN, BUT CAN’T USE SNAPCHAT

Snap. I didn’t use Facebook for about 5 years because I couldn’t work it out.

I don’t have any social media. I have never done anything office based so am terrible with spreadsheets and all that NONSENSE too. Luckily I have a very good accountant To sort most things out for me.

Can’t code or anything but pretty good at figuring out how to use devices and apps. I’m a whizz at work with finding new stuff out about our overly complicated software.

Have fallen behind on all the new fad sites and apps though and am rubbish with cameras and filming things.

For someone of my age, I'd say about 6/10

Relative to the rest of moopy, probably about 3/10

I'm always quite pleased with myself when I manage to hot water timer thing successfully first time.

I'm quite good with technology.

I'm really bad at LOOKING AFTER technology though. Like, give me a shiny new phone and it'll be smashed in days. My current one is being held together with duct tape, and the external camera is SHATTERED. I left my last phone on a bus.

Technology in the classic sense, 9/10. I can work everything in my house absolutely fine. Technology in the modern sense, 8/10. I can work any app you can name and I recently hacked my own phone down to the code, but ask me to edit a video and I'm clueless.

No one is bad with technology, some people are just bad at following instructions

I have a PHD in MASS SPECTROMETRY, so you really expect me to know a thing or two about technology.

In reality I'm just FINE.

I'm getting further and further behind :D

I can do Facebook and Twitter fine. Snapchat and Instagram have no point for me, nobody's life interests me enough to want to see their photos all the time, certainly not the vacuous bints I work with who are all on it together. I'm fine with the iPad and when I'm not sure how to do things on my phone I ask somebody to show me how to do it.
I can work all of my household appliances (washer, dryer, telly, PS3, PS4, TiVo box) and change the clocks and settings on them, including the heating clock, so that's fine.

Computer coding - I don't get it at all, it may as well be witches' incantations for what I understand of it. There's a Java for Dummies book in my spare room and it'll stay there until spawn takes it away.

I know how to use my phone and computer. That’s about it.

I can't make a video because I've never tried and would certainly decline the wiring of a plug. However I'm ok with computer-ing stuff.

Plug is an odd word.

Some very blurred lines between technology and specialisms here. Creating a video or coding isn't really the sort of standard tech skills I'd expect most people to have. Its shit you have to sit down and learn for the most part.

It's not like poor old rita trying to put a VHS in the DVD tray, lets put it that way.

I can change spark plugs and shit like that in a car, is that technology?

Technology to me is anything that involves a screen

"Know about computers and stuff"
End up being asked to fix the TOASTER

Oh its a fucking CURSE. I've just been asked for tech support twice in the middle of watching the football. FUCK OFF AND USE GOOGLE.

I've very deliberately tried to hide how good with computers and tech I am in the office, but then I get so impatient when people are being idiots I end up helping them anyway.

I just now insist I’ve been on macs too long to solve any problems
