I like snl (apart from Jim Carrey) but those trailers are always horribly awkward
 
She did do *some* singing on SNL, but nothing new...




She's got such smug weight-loss energy in that monologue :D
 
I like that she addressed that she looks completely different in a jokey kind of way but yeah, there is something off about the whole monologue.

I'm going to blame the SCRIPTED NATURE of it all (she also looks on the verge of a nervous COLLAPSE at points) and I look forward to her chatter in a less artificial environment.
 
I've only watched the monologue so far (not a classic) but god she's likeable and she looks utterly DIVINE. she wears her new body REALLY WELL and looks very comfortable and HAPPY.
 
The rest of the sketches were largely crap sadly, though she was very game.

This was probably the strongest.

 
Is there no social distancing in America? She was wearing a mask in that intro video a few days ago and they're all sat besides each other and touching each other's hands in that last clip :confused:

:D hun - movies are shooting in America right now. the general approach is for people on tv/film sets such as SNL to take daily tests and isolate outside of work as much as possible. They can't all wear masks and sit two metres apart while filming things...
 
I think SNL is operating on a reduced cast/crew at the moment, with all the performers in quarantine when not shooting.

Wouldn't be too difficult for her to do the same - she barely leaves the house!

I don't watch US TV regularly but as someone who works for TELLY in the UK, I can tell you this last clip would not have been shot and broadcast under Corona rules by any of the main broadcasters here. We have had to send several programmes BACK TO THE EDIT SUITE because they show people too close to each other!

What’s this idea everyone has (well, some of you have) about me enjoying people being miserable? COMPLETELY FALSE
 
The fact that so much attention is focused on her weight loss makes me think that this era is going to disappoint commercially. Karens never like a weight loss arc.
 


The sketch itself isn't particularly funny, but Adele's attempts to keep a straight face are.
 
I think that what was missing in the previous photos of her which caused me to have discussions with my physician was a bucketload of slap. She looks much more normal now :disco:
