There was plenty to enjoy from her last album, and the collection of off-cuts that followed. I don't think GAY ZEALOTRY over Carly Rae Jepsen has been a thing for about four years, so this backlash seems UNNECESSARY and ILL-TIMED.

I look forward to listening to her new Xmas song (but not for a month and a bit at least).

Hmm, quite a lot I think. Someone on some hip blog or podcast or Pitchfork(*spit*) decided she was cool, and since then I see a hell of a lot of “She’s the saviour of pop” articles and comments. I’m in a couple of FB music groups, made up of mostly straight males and she regularly pops up high on their lists. She seems to be “the pop girl it’s ok to like” if you’re a “music head”. Oh well.
