I can't deal with alcohol tonight :D coffee and hot chocolate for me

Trump is going to win, and he’s going to win in the most painful possible way.

He’ll get Florida, so by the end of the night (like many are expecting) he’ll be in the lead. He’ll steamroller on ahead, declare victory, and set about doing everything he can to block as many postal votes as possible.

Cue weeks of unrest, legal wrangling and hysteria, during which the courts will rightly decide not to intervene and let democracy take its course.

After all that, he will then STILL win fair and square (albeit narrowly), and will spend the next four years spinning those few weeks to claim that the Democrats tried to subvert the election and rob him of his win.

Fun times. :)

On vodka and lemonade at the moment. Hoping further beverages turn into celebratory type rather than the drown-your-sorrows kind.

Michigan will start counting votes early per CNN , NC will be a bit delayed due to extended polling hours.

opened my first drink.

I'm not drinking at the moment but the bubbly is in the fridge for later.

I’m just back from dinner and I’m nice and merry at the moment. I’ve got a good hour to drink some more and get MAUDLIN. :disco:

I agree with this up to the point where you say Trump wins even with postal votes counted. I don't think that will be the case.

I also expect we may get a 2000 situation in Florida and Georgia which is the only meaningful way the courts will influence the election towards Trump. Otherwise everything else will be the correct decision and then Trump will get turfed out the White house probably by force.

Love the SOMETHING ELSE racial category on this CNN poll :D

BBC has Katty Kay and Andrew O'Neil tonight. Talking about giving with one hand and taking with the other

Is this Neil’s swan song? At least we can be sure one ogre is going away after tonight.

CNN are blowing up over the first 9,000 votes counted in Kentucky. I don't think I'll be watching for long if their coverage is that over the top.

I think Georgia might be closer than Florida and Arizona you know. I think Georgia is still in play.

Christ - Jesse Jackson is a state on BBC Two. Did he have a stroke?

EDIT: Wikipedia says Parkinson’s

There have been lots of whispers of Republicans freaking out about Georgia. Internal polling or whatever not looking good but I guess it's all a toss up at this point so LET'S SEE.
