Lana Del Rey - Chemtrails Over The Country Club

I can see this going down well with the locals, maybe a slow burn. How is this doing on streaming, iTunes and the like @Jark

doesn't seem to be showing up on US iTunes top 50 yet (surely a glitch!) and #24 in the UK

Uh oh she says this is (one of) her favorites on the album. SOUND THE ALARM :eyes:

She needs to announce an official release date and album cover If it’s coming out in 2020. It is like her management / A&R /label are actively trying to diminish any hype around it. it’s truly astounding.

I know she's prolific, but is there a chance this album is just a bunch of stuff that didn't make it onto Norman? It all just feels TOO SOON, and I'm getting Sweet Escape vibes :eyes:

Yes perhaps that’s the worry. Historically she has been much more enthusiastic about past albums, released album trailers, she posted about 90 snippets of NFR before it came out etc. she seems much more tentative and unengaged with this album. Perhaps the backlash from her “question for the culture” posts in May contributed to this, I don’t know, but it is concerning.

Wouldn't she have genuinely had had a Billboard number 100 this year had Queen Of Disaster been available to stream/buy? Or is that just internet FANFIC!

well it's rarely a good omen when an artist announces their next album just as promo of the current one begins, and the song itself hardly dispels the notion that this is just gonna be a SIDE B affair.

Tbh she did the same thing for honeymoon IIRC and that was a serve. The song is nice enough, but it is way too safe and a retread of the weaker moments on NFR. I think we can also blame Antonoff for that.

I’ll just keep faith given that she has never delivered a less than stellar album IMO. And I did love the sound of “Tulsa Jesus Freak”. I guess I’ll just trust she has shit taste saying this is the best thing on the album.

The official video is here. She isn't playing around with the visuals/artwork this era :D

In all seriousness, it's nice in a 'nice Lana song' kind of way but there's nothing exciting about it. But then can that be really said about any Lana song? :D Whatever, meh.

Any interest in a Lana Top 100 leading up to the album launch? It changes daily, and I need to take my mind off the mediocrity of LMLYLAW. :weed:

goes in at 52 on US Spotify and 65 UK :eyes: a very "low key" start with just 1.4m streams

Not mad about that result if it makes them release a stronger track sooner. DAMAGE CONTROL!

She performed a new song "Breaking up Slowly" with Nikki Lane the past two nights, and confirmed at the end that it was on Chemtrails.

Debuts at NUMBER EIGHTY SEVEN in the UK:disco:

stream queen.

rumor has it we are getting the title track next week. The video is in post production per her manager, and has a Halloween (BTS on her insta) vibe so anything else wouldn’t make sense.

She filmed herself at a Denny's Restaurant announcing that Chemtrails is delayed another 12-16 weeks (to March 2021) due to issues with the vinyl (not sure why she can't just release it digitally and release vinyl later). She says the album is done, she loves it, it is a bit folksy and very different from Norman.

In the MEANTIME she is releasing an album full of Americana standards and Patsy Cline covers on or before Christmas on digital platforms. :D :eyes:

Between the poetry album/book, "Let Me Love You Like a Woman", "question for the culture" post, she is truly giving us nothing we want in 2020.

You have to wonder if Rihanna has also recorded a pile of absolutely crap that no-one wants but has been successfully persuaded not to release it while Lana has yet to be successfully impeded.

Freudian slip? :tisch:

Oh Lana. No-one gives a fuck about your rubbish album (yes, I've decided it will be rubbish, sorry not sorry) except seven tumblr queens who haven't got the memo that you can't even watch porn there now and our own dear @POP!

Even the Brazilians have lost interest. just THROW IT OUT THERE and we can all MOVE ON!
