Nate Cohn sounds hopeful

Biden has won Pennsylvania absentee ballots by an overwhelming margin so far. If he carried the remaining absentee ballots by a similar margin, he would win the state.
I’m not allowing myself to get too carried away with the possibility of a Pennsylvania win. I am, however, quite invested in a Georgia win.

If Biden wins Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania he's got it with 273.
If he takes Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada and Arizona he's got 270 exactly.
If he takes Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan and Nevada he's got 275.

Essentially he needs the very likely looking wins in Wisconsin and Michigan, and then some combo of PA/Georgia/Arizona/Nevada, all of which are still in play.

Current figures have Biden ahead in Nevada, Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan and Maine, and therefore on 270 electoral college votes. Anyone for a trip to the Supreme Court to stop any further counting?

I wouldn't count on Wisconsin being done and dusted. If they declare the final results and there's less than 1% in it, there will almost certainly be a request for a recount by the losing side.

I never understand how a recount can significantly change the results by more than, say, a hundred votes. Is there really so much human error inputting data from a ballot that it could be in the thousands?

How are the ballots done? Do they still do it by punching ominous holes into sheets of paper or is like the UK with OVERKEEN 6th formers counting crosses on sheets of paper?

Anyways I’m not sure I like watching the Philadelphia City Commissioners live stream of the count. Getting my conspiracy theory right on.

“Why has she just done the sign of the cross?”
“Why has he opened that machine?”
“Why did she take the papers out and replace the order?”

Okay so is this actually going to be okay then?

The current most likely scenario is looking like a possible Biden SCRAPE victory via random electoral college point in NEBRASKA at the moment :D

He could of course also win Georgia and Pennsylvania last minute via mail in ballots and have something close to a respectable finish.
It's looking more likely for Biden than Trump, in the short term at least.

Short term, it looks hopeful for Biden.

Dems failing to win the Senate is a big blow though. They'll make it very difficult for Biden to get anything meaningful done.

I hear this, and I believe you. But... :emoji_purple_heart: Donald Trump won't be the President anymore :emoji_purple_heart:

what happens if both parties get 50 senate seats? currently they're tied on 47.

If it's going to be a razor-thin election win for Biden and the Republicans keep the Senate (with several moderate Democrats making up the numbers too), the compromise is going to be made on economic issues, like I said a couple of days ago.

Not winning the Senate is a disaster for Biden's agenda. The Republicans are going to end up picking his cabinet.

Oh I thought it was political jargon :D I suppose it's just how I felt at the time and I got 5 likes out of it so I'm happy with my choice
