I’m only asking because I started to track this with a new app and it seems like on a weekday I average 12-15,000 and on a weekend day I average <300 :D

The typical number you hear is that you should do 10,000 a day but I actually think that is quite hard? I can do it because I don’t really get a chance to sit down at work and I commute quite a long way, but during peak lockdown I would really have to set time aside to reach that number. It’s all FAKE NEWS anyway, just like the recommended alcohol units aren’t really achievable to stick to in the right-wing dystopia in which we currently live, but that’s a different thread.

I used a pedometer a few years back for several months, and I average 14,000 a day. My routine hasn't changed significantly since.

Low because I'm unemployed. Add a job into the mix and I hit 8k to 10k.

My highs were 25k every day while at a festival.

So when I was in London and not working my average was easily 15,000 a day. But now I’m in Glasgow and working from home I’m about 6000 and that included going to the gym every day. It doesn’t include cycling there though.

My AVERAGE is 7172. My record for the year is 27000 on the 2nd of Feb? I think that’s because I got lost trying to get home drunk and walked for MILES though.

Did you forget where you live? A friend of mine used to be notorious for that. We‘ll get you a cab luv - you‘re obviously a bit tiddly. Tell the driver where to go. I CAN‘T REMEMBER MY ADDRESS (:D)

Back in his drinking days, Mr Ag got so drunk, he got a taxi to my parents house and then forgot where he was.

I OFTEN, as in, on at least 3 occasions, have walked out the Queen Adelaide and started heading the wrong way down Hackney Road. Usually not realising till I hit SHOREDITCH.

Oh DEAR :D

Mind you, as previously discussed, there are some lovely supermarkets down that end :disco:

Mine is always so much lower than others. I think I have a significant stride.

@Lucille Maybe try to remember that you need to go under a bridge to be going the right way

YET MORE HELPFUL TIPS FROM HAUS ZU

>15,000, but mostly because I can get 10,000 at work and I run most days

I am for 10k each day, average weekly is probably a little lower than 10k due to the days when its about 100! :D

On a normal day before lockdown etc. I used to average 6000 - 8000 with 10000+ on a Saturday due to dog-walking.

Working from home today and in isolation so no dog walking and I've done 1342 and most of those were probably not steps but my arm moving when I was typing.

I used to easily manage 10,000 a day but its more like an average of 8,000 now but very inconsistent.

My record for a day is 58,197 though

You must be having an amazing lockdown!

On average I've dropped 2-3k per day; used to be just over 10k on average.

Hardly - just that my job in terms of travel hasn't changed, and I never had much of a social life to change in the first place!

If I'm at work I can average between 19-21000 steps, once I managed 31000 but it was an 11.5 hour shift.

On my days off around 4-6000.

I think my average is around 5000, it’s not everyday but on the days I go for a walk I make up for it. It’s gonna go down drastically once the snow starts.
