Is this Glasgow and Lanarkshire going in to level 4? I’m not really surprised as the numbers still seem to be RISING even though they have been in level 3 for over a month now.

Although i'm a bit bored of 20 or 30-somethings debating on TV/social media whether they'll take the vaccine or not. At the end of the day (unless you have underlying yadda yadda) the vaccine ISN'T *FOR* YOU. If you don't currently get a flu vaccine, I doubt you'll get this either.

Yeah, they're saying it's not inevitable but it's happening. What a fucking shambles. I should probs order some more Xmas presents for folk so I can get them delivered while I'm still at home to get the parcels.

I keep getting hounded to buy something off a few friends who have set up online businesses selling all manor of SHITE. They apparently run through social media which I thankfully don’t have, but am still getting random texts asking me to have a look. I am all for supporting local businesses but are these even businesses? I am not going to buy any old tat for presents, and if someone gave me KNOCK OFF perfume then they would be getting KNOCKED OUT.
 
That’s worse than expected is it not? Ayrshire and West Lothian were under consideration but by no means certain to be placed under level 4.

I feel for our posters on the West of Scotland, but also glad I live on the right side of the Central Belt.
 
Level 4 should have been put in place weeks ago. I worry doing it now until 11 December will sink a lot of businesses during what should be their key trading period.

Yeah, it will. Small businesses are screwed. It's great news for Amazon and no-one else.

Right now, I'm seeing my self-iso as a minor blessing, as it has allowed me to get things delivered and get the orders in before the rush this will cause.
 
Did anyone ever genuinely think we would come out of lockdown at the start of December? I’ll be genuinely AMAZED.
 
Oh he'll open all the shops back up again I'm sure and just tell people not to mix with other houses. Economy means more to him than people's actual lives/ mental health.
 
I saw something saying the new case figure methodology has changed; not sure if it's just the particular website I'm looking at or a national change.
 
The effects of lockdown are only starting to show now in France. Start of December is out of the question it seems. Plus, apparently, lockdown won't be just lifted like it was in May, but it will only become lighter UNTIL THIS WHOLE THING GOES AWAY WITH THE VACCINE NEXT YEAR :):):)

I'm genuinely worried about the shops in the West of Scotland in the run-up to Xmas now. They'll have all the usual restrictions on numbers but people will be anxious and desperate due to time constraints.
 
Not to be grim, but deaths presumably lags the other measures by a few weeks?

Have hospital admissions decreased since lockdown 2 began?

NO THEY ARE STILL INCREASING

IN THE LAST SEVEN DAYS, HOSPITAL ADMISSIONS HAVE INCREASED BY 15%.
 
Has anyone heard the latest rumours re: Christmas? Starting point of Christmas Eve suggests that they are clearly discouraging anyone that lives more than five minutes from family from going anywhere.

As someone who lives in the south nowhere near any of my family - :(

 
Ugh these headlines that are clearly leaked out after policy brainstorming sessions in order to test the water so nobody has to make any decisions until they see how it flies with the electorate are starting to get right on my tits.

I mean, I know it has ALWAYS been the case, but it does seem particularly crass when public health is involved.

The Tories have always been especially bad for that. Labour did it too but the Tories were long fans of "leak a worst case scenario so that what we actually do won't seem quite so bad".
 
And what more severe restrictions are we going have to endure before and after to allow this 5-day free-for-all to occur?

Good thing is, they're really getting ahead on that front. Quite a number of people I went to uni with work at Biontech and they're fairly optimistic with regards to vaccinating high risk groups early next year. So at least we're not a in a "road to nowhere" dilemma.

I mean, it's not really a lockdown though. I saw my PT 2km from my apartment this morning. The weekends are largely spent outside using different variants of your attestation. You can go to Starbucks. If they had locked down harder for four weeks, the results would not be better. But this half-assed approach means everything will drag on in a state of semi-slumber for months.
 
I’m supposed to be going away Xmas week to escape the family. I hope I still can won’t be the same stuck in my flat pretending I can’t see them
