I've never heard this album before, so I'm intrigued. I LOVE "Anything Could Happen" and "Lights" to a lesser extent. "Burn" is ALRIGHT. Don't know anything else.

7:20 am here right now... I don't have a sleep schedule :D I woke up at 3 am today, yesterday at 8 am!

It does include some of Ellie's essential tracks: Only You, My Blood, Explosions, Dead In The Water, Hanging On (though I've no idea why this version of the album doesn't feature Tinie Tempah).

Also, In My City and a cover from The Weeknd's High For This (again, no idea which version has them) are great too. All in all, a great era for Ellie and unfortunately the moment she SOLD HER SOUL for hits.
 
yes, Lights was tacked on for reasons I can't remember (if they ever made sense). Maybe because it didn't peak stateside until summer 2012 and Halcyon was about to come out then? But I think the debut was still charting so WHO KNOWS.

Oh yeah that timing makes complete sense. I forgot Lights wasn't a UK hit. My version has 8(!) more songs than this one, but also omits 2 of them?? I'm going to make a playlist of this version to keep up

Thank you! There's 3 of those that I don't know (High For This, The Ending and Midas Touch). I have all the others on my version!

Ellie should be proud she provided so much entertainment, not just with her album, but with her track listings....

You should listen to High For This. It's a Weeknd cover, and its really good. Midas touch is good enough too
 
Ellie knows how to do an intro. I like the drums in this. Also I like how you think its just gonna be her repeating herself over and over but the the second half has a really nice melody
 
Does she consider this an intro? :D at 4:07 that seems a little LUXURIOUS

Some background for me: I had become obsessed with Ellie during her first era, and especially when Lights became a big hit here. I listened to this album at midnight when it came out here. It might be the first time I ever did that
 
this is one of those albums (the original edition at least) where I know every word of every song. it's all ingrained in me somehow.

It was an amazing era! I had this album on repeat for about a year. I wish I could get this excited about her again!

10 My Blood

The "first" real song on this album really married Ellie's mousy voice (I mean this as a compliment) with some darker themes
