Ladies Perfume

Can anyone recommend a good perfume for my mother? Usually I’d go to the shops but don’t wanna be touching a load of bottles and inhaling in a department store for OBVIOUS REASONS. Looking for something under £80, not too sweet or floral, more fresh smelling, and not TOO mature, but not TOO YOUNG either. Any recommendations?

In the past I have bought my mum Cinéma and the one she wanted this year was Shalimar, but that's a bit more than £80. And she insists on Eau de Parfum not Eau de Toilette because the latter is weaker and wears off quicker.

I have NO IDEA what either of those are like really, but reading your criteria I'd say my mum has a similar taste.

Estee Lauder is generally a hit with older women. I've always brought that brand for my mother and she loved it. But they can be floral.

She’s open minded but I’d err towards classic, albeit I’d rather it not be one that everyone has.

Clinique's Aromatic Elixir is a good one that manages to straddle the generational divide. It's a classic but not an obvious one.

She already has a couple of Chanel ones, and she’s WELL AWARE of the monster she’s inflicted on the world so no reason to put on AIRS and GRACES.

Fill a homebase squirty bottle with rosewater from your local Turkish supermarket. Cheap and cheerful, and she can also use it to discipline unruly hounds.

@Lucille you might think we’re being wilfully unhelpful but you could buy her this beautiful fragrance together with many other lovely perfumes in this thread for your budget. Think QUANTITÄT not QUALITÄT
