White Light is such an explosive 80s moment

the way it builds and pulls you into its vortex until you're in some kind of COSMIC TRANCE is absolutely blinding.

I actually saw her again last year touring the second album in Brussels, in a room of no more than 150 people, with White Light as the last song before the encore. the bass was cranked up so high and it basically felt like being in the best club of all time for 5 minutes, ascending to heaven. you'd better believe I SCREAMED.

but the album version IS 7 minutes, just like the extended mix beb! is there a difference?

it's beautiful though. really tender. I think it's about her relationship with her brother.

I think it is actually my favourite record of all time at least on a song-for-song basis. maybe there are one or two challengers for the nostalgia. but god, masterpiece!

I would! I think I got more into the vibe as it went on, hence the low scores to start that got better and better.

I was already a loon (although the second album didn't really do it for me unfortunately). I've been reading for a while though, so this is probably where I found her

*A rate doesn't do this song justice. Simply one of the best pop songs ever.

God I don't think I even realised how ASTOUNDING this album is. Mainly because the songs all trickled out gradually over the course of a year, so by the time the album came out we were already familiar with most of the tracks. It's never been a complete album experience for me, just an astonishing collection of future pop.
