HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE

I have long been debating with myself whether I want to be buried or cremated. It's difficult to put yourself into the mind of your SOULLESS BODY and I've always hated the idea of being SET ALIGHT but then again I'm also not too keen on being DECOMPOSED BY WORMS.

I think I'm starting to settle on cremation for the first time in my life (so to speak). It's one of those weird things people never talk about so I'm interested if it's something people have given much thought to (and I see there was a similar thread back in 2009).

Isn't cremation supposed to be quite bad for the environment?

Just feed me to the dogs TBH. What do I care?

Can we please have an option for ‘left on a mountaintop and eaten by birds’?

Oh is it? Because of the fumes? I always assumed taking up all that space with a big grave was a bit SELFISH. But I suppose it leads to nutrients going back into the soil.

Either way, I feel a bit like "Just give me this one, earth" :D

I'm donating my body to Armin Meiwes. he must be STARVED by now

Yes, do what u want to my body. I suppose I'd prefer cremation, but I know from personal experience that if things go SOUR there's a chance not everyone gets what they want (we don't have my dad's ashes AND there's no grave, which is marvellous obvs).

I mean, you did START one of those topics love
Even in my wildest most provocative dreams, I had no concept that a rubbish 2 minute edited version of someone else's post would cause such extra furore! It was just a shit parody.

I think I would like to be buried for recycling purposes but the dead minks are taking up all the space :(

I don't think I especially care. Burial does seem rather wasteful. But the historian in me, says I want some kind of solid record of my existence.

I have made it very clear I want a Viking funeral or I will come back and haunt the fuck out of everyone.

Burials are a pain in the bum for everyone. Cremations are cleaner, quicker and leave behind almost no evidence.

I'm quite into the tree-feeding idea that's been knocking around but I don't know how I feel about my earthly remains being used to - location depending - erect a dog toilet.

NEITHER

Please amend the poll so that people like me can be properly represented. FUNGUS ME FATHER

This tree one I assume octophone is referring to sounds much less unpleasant to me

It might make all future trees get a taste for human flesh, though. I could do without that worry when walking through a park.

I think they're both as bad in different ways. Burial for the space obviously, but then also the materials used in the coffin and the chemicals that potentially infect the soil.

It's like rubbish, burn it or bury it, it kind of feels like a no win situation

I don't give a fuck, I'll be DEAD. Whatever the people in my life want I guess

Yes, although I don't really care what happens to my FLESH VESSEL after I'm gone.

If they don't remove the flammable cladding outside my flat, quite possibly earlier than intended :(

I think cremation but I haven’t taken any steps to make it happen. I’ve always found funerals and burials to be very traumatizing and wouldn’t want one for myself.
