Good evening, ladies, gents, freaks, queens and all who appreciate POP MUSIC! You are cordially invited to attend the very first annual Golden Moops, celebrating the year of our lord 2020 in music - nominated and voted for by you, the people.

In what might best be described as a turbulent year for the human race—but a fairly normal one for cats—the musical artists of our times adapted to the chaos with surprising speed, rendering 2020 one of the strongest years for music in recent memory. In a year in which finding somewhere to go out and dance was as difficult as getting a number one album in five consecutive decades, the disco revival refused to be stopped, muscling its way into pop music and demanding that we improvise in our living rooms. Smashes were born on TikTok, legends made long-awaited comebacks, the UK bathed in the glow of a new pop superstar and, while Justin Bieber somehow kicked off a second album campaign inside one year, the ghost of Sky Ferreira was spotted disinfecting the walls at a retirement home in Surrey.

So now to you—your say, your chance to speak and be heard in a post-Kala democracy. Below you will find the categories for the awards—nominations will be open for one week only, so please don't delay.

THE CEREMONY
The ceremony will be broadcast LIVE over several nights from the yacht Woof Daddy in Cannes, where your hosts will be taking part in an orgy featuring world-famous names who cannot be revealed here for legal purposes (including but not limited to Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, Prince, Christopher Malonie, Princess Eugenie, @HeLikedTurner, Cilla Black, Elon Musk, Grimes and Vasilios from Popjustice). Exact dates and times will be revealed shortly on the cork board at the Joanne Trattoria.

CO-HOSTS
Please pay careful attention to this part! Write-ups for each award will be divided among posters who want to CO-HOST. You can commit as much or as little of your time as you'd like, from 20 minutes to a few hours. If you're interested and available (girl, you're available), let me know by Wednesday 16th please. There's no pressure to be funny either - look at me, I'm out here killing it.

For the awards which state "max 2/3 nominations", this is optional - just the one is also fine. You do not have to vote in every category—only the big 3 are mandatory. I personally wouldn't have three things going on at the same time. But that's just me and my annoying habit of getting things finished.
