I looked this up and now I'm more confused:

The candles are placed in the Hannukiah from right to left (just as Hebrew is written from right to left), but are lit from left to right.

My family has actually always done it that way but I didn’t know it was official
 
I drank quite a bit at lunch, I had an afternoon nap but now feel REALLY GROGGY and can’t be bothered to do ANYTHING.

Easyjet have just emailed me to cancel our trip to Madeira in March. Borderline pissed off/relieved.

No reason given. It's only the flight back which is cancelled, and I could change to another date but that would mean staying longer than we intended.

To be honest though, with things being as they are I don't think I could look forward to it anyway, and what's the point of a holiday in March, if not looking forward to it through shitty January and February? We booked in early July when I (admittedly somewhat naively) thought, or at least HOPED March would be fine.

I'm happy to just take the refund and run at this point.

Went and picked up my chinese for tea and just after I set off for home my mobile rang, didn't recognise the number so I declined it because I assumed it was a "ringing about your car accident" call. Thirty seconds later it rang again so I pulled the car over and rang the number back. It was the lady from the chinese to tell me she'd given me the wrong bag of food and could I come back please. :D

Well, the vet checked her over and couldn’t detect any breaks or fractures on her front paw. He gave her an anti inflammatory injection in to her elbow, and some pain killers and more anti inflammatory medication and we were off on our merry way. He was really lovely, and put her at ease straight away and had no intentions of putting her down. She seems a lot better already, and has ate her dinner and went out for a walk. It feels like a massive weight has been lifted and I have been busy getting stuck in to the booze since I got home to celebrate.

Ah that's good. Pain relief does wonders! You've still got a couple of years left in her I'm sure

It rained every single day we were there. We went for the walks and the scenery but it was so foggy we couldn't see the views and couldn't walk because of the torrential rain :(

This is the news I was looking for! So glad to hear it went well, vets are a great help and though you walk away with a lighter purse you also walk away with lighter shoulders :)

That's awesome.

I've had a pretty awful week - my dog ate something on Friday, which made him heavily shit the carpet overnight. For the next four days we've kept watch on him constantly and taking turns sleeping on the sofa.

He's only just shown signs of getting through it, but he's lost a lot of weight.

Aaaw poor Indiedog. Do you know what it was he ate? Can he keep chicken and rice down?

There've been a lot of reports of several dogs and cats becoming suddenly and violently ill round here and the vets suspect antifreeze or poison.
 
Imagine how much of an absolute bastard you have to be to poison a dog. I hope there's a wee enclave of hell where these people get their arses bitten for eternity.
 
Poor indie dog. I hope he's ok.

We've had quite a few vomiting and diarrhoea cases in this week.
