JARK.FM #6 (TONIGHT @ 9)

When does the grimy stuff start? Looking at the tracklisting I’m thinking Jark LIED.
:D

I mean it's not exactly DIRTY GRIME. but tracks 9, 16 and 17 are a bit less POLISHED HOUSE and a bit more FILTHY BASSLINE. now stop doubting Jark and WAIT FOR THE GOODS.

Maybe I'm just not grimy enough, but I love the Hercules & Love Affair one

Anyway I’m coming from you live from what was my childhood bedroom but is increasingly my Mum’s never ending deranged interior design project. It’s 80% cushions at this point.

I've been utterly obsessed with this Faithless track for a few weeks now. it's so all over the place and shouldn't work at all but it has my gunny losing its COOL on the regs.

love it when you come to call
like a cat in from the cold
but however much I love you baby
however much I LOVE you baby...
I love my synthesizer MORE
:disco:

Also in my old bedroom which has been stacked with IKEA shelves and boxes and is now a storage room for all my dad's mail, which he bizarrely never throws out.

I did find a vinyl of Touch Me Like That (Dannii vs. Jason Nevins) and an enormous Sweet Escape tour poster today though, so there's still some sign that JARK WAS HERE.

The Faithless single didn't get the love it deserved. So strange how Faithless and Groove Armada just don't get any support from the industry any more when they're still doing good music.

anyone expecting to find the UNDERGROUND during a CLUBNIGHT AT JARK's is going to be disappointed. better to pop a 911 and surrender to the homosexual piano house experience avec moi :disco:

Anyway I love the 90s vibes on this next track, giving me slight ‘Love Capsule Deluxe’ vibes.

I, too, am enjoying Moon Boots.

I've been tinkling with the setlist right up until this afternoon but I think it's QUITE SHARP - def takes a few TWISTS N TURNS as it goes on. some of the kookier stuff is saved for later, although I'm not sure anything tops POLO AND PAN taking us down the yellow brick road last time with a tab of acid.

this Disciples track is so GNARLY! love their commitment to the good old tropes of deep house. I often play it when running as it gets me quite PUMPED. makes me want to go out and GET MESSY.

Ooh when the beat really kicked in about 1:30 into the Disciples track was jarring but also a :disco: moment

This is a very DREAMY playlist @Jark

Either way every time I listen to one of your sets it feels like you've gone inside my head and plucked out a few sounds and pulled something together from that. It's actually quite scary how on point you are.

I'm slobbering for the SG Lewis album you know. Possibly more than the London Grammar one. I just hope it has a load of new tracks and isn't just a compilation of all the great music he's made over the years.

well, they say there's no accounting for taste. but I have accounted for yours. :disco:

If you like this I think you're gonna like this one too.

Oh I already know and like that one!

Randomly I listened to a bunch of songs you posted in a thread about dance music from 2006-2007 and loved them too

the current singles are from a 6/7 track EP, right? I think it's out in Jan. so there'll only be about 3-4 new ones. but everything is really high quality so far, it's quite ridiculous.

for those enjoying this Rhye remix, she did a full remix album which is killer - Moon Boots, Poolside, Le Youth, Tensnake, Mansionair, Channel Tres, Little Dragon, Roosevelt... :disco: it's actually quite OUTRAGEOUS!

Rhye is a MAN :D

I know, I was shocked too.

what a playlist though. That's like all my favourite dance artists together.

OK this section beginning with the LA Priest/Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs remix is one of my highlights. TEEDS are ridiculously amazing always and this particular track fucking FIZZES and POPS. total sugar rush, but that heavy bass also brings the MUSCLE. falls into the (not exactly rarefied) category of "makes Jark wanna take drugs."

where is this please?

You may not like a lot of them :D The ones from the first post are pretty well known but I meant more the songs from the bottom and second page
