The USA: Trump-Biden Transition - attempted coup + Trump IMPEACHED (AGAIN!) (1 Viewer)

Trump has pardoned four soldiers who quite literally murdered Iraqi children in 2007.

With all the reports that he's actually sounded out martial law to prevent Biden's inauguration, the fact that he's now making a move like this, which seems aimed at winning the unerring loyalty of the military, is fairly scary...

A couple of festive classics from Don Jr.

The sound of the Latina maid in the background in the second one! Beyond parody :D

Wisconsin governor Scott Walker has posted a photo of the pizza he had last night:

except it's actually a cropped version of a photo from last year:

What a weird thing to lie about!

Maybe becoming accustomed to lying about literally everything doesn't lead to the best results

US Election hunties: what are we to expect on Jan 6th? Is it going to KICK OFF in D.C.? And what's happening officially - Mike Pence certifying Biden or something?

I think Pence will certify. Or resign dramatically to avoid it, but that would only mean Nancy Pelosi did it.

I'm afraid the odds are very much in favour of the Republican gruesome twosome in Georgia, which is mightily depressing. :(

I've really become far too emotionally invested in this run-off despite the fact that it's unlikely to affect my life in the slightest :D

The odds still favour the Republicans, but Ossoff/Warnock now have a narrow lead in the polls. Perdue and Loeffler are both such shockingly terrible candidates, it amazes me how many millions will turn out for them based on them literally dodging debates, brazenly cashing in on COVID and generally being creepy robot people.

But then I live in a country where people like Priti Patel and Jacob Rees Mogg occupy safe seats, so I guess that's just how the world works.

Trump's veto has been overridden by Congress for the first time during this presidency in respect of a defence funding bill. Lots of Republican senators voted against him to override the veto 81-13. Trump has since called Republican senators "pathetic" on Twitter

Good! Cause division amongst the Republicans right before the special election :disco: David & Kelly being fucked over by Trump himself is an ideal end to this never-ending election cycle

Ten republican Senators have now announced they will reject the Presidential electors from the 'contested' states, and they're calling for a ten day 'emergency audit' of the voting system. :manson:

It won't work, but it'll force hours and hours of debate and likely delay the final certification.

Cunts.

Well that makes me want to bang my head against a wall

I don't know who the last 3 are but the 10 that have all admitted to it are the absolute worst of the worst. It is shocking that fucking Marsha Blackburn, Tommy Tuberville, and Josh Hawley have this much power. I am honestly embarrassed by this now.

Well that is insulting to Marsha Clark for many reasons

Are these senators on the way out?

Isn’t Hawley touted as a potential Republican nominee for 2024? :eyes:

This is astonishing, and you'd think after five years of this shit those words would have lost all meaning...

President Trump urged fellow Republican Brad Raffensperger, the Georgia secretary of state, to “find” enough votes to overturn his defeat in an extraordinary one-hour phone call Saturday that election experts said raised legal questions.

The Washington Post obtained a recording of the conversation in which Trump alternately berated Raffensperger, tried to flatter him, begged him to act and threatened him with vague criminal consequences if the secretary of state refused to pursue his false claims, at one point warning that Raffensperger was taking “a big risk.”

Throughout the call, Raffensperger and his office’s general counsel rejected Trump’s assertions, explaining that the president is relying on debunked conspiracy theories and that President-elect Joe Biden’s 11,779-vote victory in Georgia was fair and accurate.

Trump dismissed their arguments.

“The people of Georgia are angry, the people in the country are angry,” he said. “And there’s nothing wrong with saying, you know, um, that you’ve recalculated.”

Raffensperger responded: “Well, Mr. President, the challenge that you have is, the data you have is wrong.”

At another point, Trump said: “So look. All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won the state.”

The rambling and at times incoherent conversation offered a remarkable glimpse of how consumed and desperate the president remains about his loss, unwilling or unable to let the matter go and still believing he can reverse the results in enough battleground states to remain in office.

“There’s no way I lost Georgia,” Trump said, a phrase he repeated again and again on the call. “There’s no way. We won by hundreds of thousands of votes.”

He's absolutely bricking it, clearly. :D

Surely it’s not just Biden’s win they want to overturn, but the newly elected Republican Senators (the ones still alive anyway) who were also on the same ballots? It’s so ridiculous :D

I'm listening to the audio now and it is completely insane. Just sad, rambling, delusional nonsense. It's been ten minutes and nobody else has even had a chance to speak yet.

I love that Brad clearly planned to leak it as soon as he learned he was getting the call. :D
