You couldn't make this shit up honestly. They had been away for Christmas break and instead of keeping them home if they were planning on closing schools anyway, they decided it was better to mix all those households' kids again just for the one day... I would laugh if it wasn't so fucking tragic.

Did many schools actually go back? I think most here had planned inset days, or ones hastily arranged at the last minute. What a fucking shitshow.
 
The formatting of their latest guidance document is a mess. The indents are wrong all over the place.
 
I'm so angry. How the hell am I going to calm down enough to sleep? Might need some noise.

It’s all I can take to hold it together at the moment. And I know that sounds selfish because people are dying and the NHS in overwhelmed, but I just feel so on the edge.

All of the primary schools were in today near me, I drove past them all walking to school on my way to the office this morning. It's ridiculous.

I'm trying to think this way. I need to separate my anger at the repeated utter fucking incompetence of the handling of it, and my own ability to cope. If I can do that, I've got it.

It's not selfish at all - on the contrary. Feeling on edge or being scared means that you do care and worry for people in general and that includes you.

I hear you. I'm in an absolute rage right now but I'll get myself out of it. I mean, this is the shit I went into therapy for - time to put it to work.

The difference is, the beginning of lockdown one we all thought it’d only be for 3 weeks!

I now know it’ll be 3 months which is more daunting. I may just stay at my parents for the foreseeable future if that’s ok with work, although I enjoy going into the office it is by no means necessary.
 
I'm honestly so fucking angry. My eldest had worked her arse of last year after her one early GCSE got given on predicted grades. Now the same thing is happening again. What the fuck is the point of her even logging on for online lessons tomorrow?!
 
Remember everyone, there is a small difference this time in that the vaccine is here and the light at the end of the tunnel is here. We didn't have that last time.

The news that the top four priority groups are projected to be vaccinated by end of February is great and the news that numbers have started to come down in the over 80s (ergo: the vaccine is working) is great too.

I'm not defending the government AT ALL, and this all absolutely sucks. But I do think it's worth reminding that there is at least a bit of positivity too.

They all shot their loads last year. Although I suppose there is still Beyoncé... and Marge.
