Did you see the language about how the impeachment is dangerous and making people angry, because he thinks that when future riots happen he can direct the blame back to that?

also about how he had his rally speech “analysed” and “everyone said it was fine”. Analysed by who? Where’s this evidence? Who is everyone?

The man is so aware that his followers are stupid and ignorant he will just make up anything to fit his narrative, and know full well it will stick with them.
 
Apparently he was more put out that the rioters were of a “lower class” than he was about the violence and storming Capitol.

PR. 12 days from the end of his office, impeachment and a national crisis looming that he caused, an historically divided country and covid out of control, he’s STILL trying to control his image and get likes.

Who would nominate him though? He's forever tainted with Trump's history, and his reputation for being a wet blanket for the last four years.

What has he DONE since becoming VP. What has he even SAID? He's been invisible the whole time.
 
I don't say this to in any way defend him, but I would imagine Pence has been a lot more influential than most Vice Presidents over the past four years, by virtue of the fact that Trump clearly wasn't interested in 95% of the day to day elements of the job of being President.

Keeping quiet and pushing through his agenda seems to have more or less worked for him so far, I can see the logic of playing it safe and staying quiet.

I agree, but I'd say he's almost played it TOO quiet. Come 2024 everyone will just remember him as that weak, voiceless VP, playing into his opponent's hands very easily. I imagine it will be very hard for him to get elected.

But I said that about Trump in 2016 so :emoji_shrug:

I am not saying it will work, I'm just speculating over his thinking.

However, in 3 years time when Republicans have the choice between a safe pair of hands and doubling down on nonsense, they may see Pence as a way of trying to get a foot in both camps. I don't think it would win the election though, but predicting US politics is not a fun game at the moment.
 
I get the impression Pence has probably come out of this VERY WELL from traditional Republicans.
 
Let’s not forget that this is a party that has actively chosen Trump and stood by him all these years. ANY kind of garbage could get the nominee for 2024.
 
I was just thinking, it's a wonder that no major politician in the US has been assassinated during Trump's presidency and then I thought 'shit, there's still a week left'...

Not on the same scale of course but I walked by the Georgia capital today and it was already barricaded with police cars all around it

What she did was obviously horrific, but by ALL ACCOUNTS she was severely mentally unwell, and abused throughout her life.
I cannot believe anybody with a conscience* would send such a sick person to be executed, never mind when they could have just NOT DONE IT and left it for the Biden administration to sort out.

*well of course I can, it's a Trump administration.
