Norway 2021: TIX - Fallen Angel (1 Viewer)

I hate going into a topic where everyone is all "OMG GLORIA/100!!" and you're just PRAYING you think the same when it's something as monumentally (:side-eye:) important as this...

Luckily I adore it, what a euphoric emotional ride! Who cares if it doesn't makes sense?

That being said...it isn't Spirit In The Sky. Not that I'd expect it but that didn't win, so even if this gets selected, my expectations are comfortably in check. The transitions are also a bit CLUNKY in places. But that key change towards the end...holy fuck :disco:

Whatever happens it'll clearly be among the top 5 songs of this year's selection process across ALL countries

The chorus lets it down ever so slightly, and I can't imagine it would have done any better than "Attention" - in the sense that both would probably have come top 5.

But christ it's so PAINFUL when countries don't send their most interesting song, when the song is decent. Won't somebody think of the good of the contest!!

Probably literally 3 sales at this point, but I'll take it! (and only 9 places below Kylie and Dua's superstar duet :bruised:)

I was about to say, some of their competition sounds like it could be a threat so I'm not even allowing myself the luxury of thinking easy qualification...but then as soon as you go back to this, FUCK! Surely there is no other way!
 
Will the automatic qualifiers perform during the heats? It sounds like they won't but then won't their songs get less exposure?
 
One suspects they'll go through unless something major crops up. She looks like a the sort to have some dodgy pics saved in a private folder on her phone.

No idea, but you'd think it would benefit them to do so, as well as getting a live performance in first in case of anything that needs changing. I can't remember if this happened last year.

I see big beardy bloke is back this year, too. They definitely have competition on their hands..
 
They did last year, one per week. I assume that's happening this year and that's why KEiiNO are the only autoqualifier to be released this week.

I think the Tix song has also auto-qualified, so two have been released this week. Maybe there will be 2 this week and 1 in the following weeks as there are 6 pre-qualified... Unless one will be performed during the wildcard heat... Who knows :D
 
It's fine, I realise being able to match one of the best Eurovision entries of all time would be a tough ask but I think their album also has a couple of better tracks. Just hoping that if they win it's because it is the best song in the selection once we've heard everything and not just based on their name, I think the Norwegians would be disappointed if they expect this to do as well or better than 2019.

I agree with the general order although you have completely SHAFTED poor rock god Jorn with Faith Bloody Faith :(

I like how the levels of boring deteriorate during your rank :D

When I first heard Spirit in the Sky, I thought ‘this is okay’ and nothing more. It was only though repeated listens that I grew to love it. I had a more positive reaction to this on first listen, so I’m assuming I’ll be full loon come May.

I do. :)

Two are performing tomorrow night, including Keiino, then the other four in the next four heats. The wildcard heat is a slightly different format apparently.

16.01 - KEiiNO / Tix
23.01 - Stavangerkameratene
30.01 - Kaja Rode
06.02 - Atle Pettersen
13.02 - Rein Alexander
 
Monument is marvellous but also not convinced it has quite the same televote appeal as Spirit in the Sky.

I do feel a bit for the homosexual of an uncertain age getting squeezed out vocally, which seemed to be the case on the album as well (which was great fun). Lady Keiino is the jewel in the crown but he is hardly Lee from Steps.
 
Eh, it's a nice song, with a good build up to the chorus which doesn't really go anywhere. I can't see anyone else winning though, and it'll easily qualify.
