I hate "The Party's Over", don't mind "It's My Life" (the title track is amazing), love "The Colour Of Spring", adore "Spirit of Eden" and adore "Laughing Stock". Only John Coltrane and Autechre can boast a more vertiginous accelerated development to that shown by Talk Talk - from 2nd rate new romantic synth-poppers to legendary innovators in 6 years is almost unbelievable.

killer consistency, starts and well and hits a proper incredible peak in the mid section, sounds as great today as then - it's a beast. and that run of 10s/11s is matched only be the opening section of janet.

Having a little listen to Toni's debut tonight. By God it's good. It's a lot safer than Secrets but I have to say the songs are stronger overall. One of the best R&B albums of the 90s.
