Morning!

I thoroughly cannot be arsed with work today. I just want to get to the bit where the US pulls a last minute stunt and ends the world.
 
Woke up at 6:30!! for my PrEP follow up exams. 45 minute wait outside in the cold :zombie: then another 45 minute wait inside the lab. All this suffering for yet another PrEP box that will not be used :eyes:
 
But at least I’m working from home today, which means I can block an hour in my schedule in the afternoon for a zoom meeting with ""Clément"", ie a nap :)

Thats the plan. His school got a very strong letter yesterday, not having a go, but pointing out the pressure hes under. He only joined the key stage system in Jan last year, hes worked so hard to get up to speed, its heart breaking to see him get upset about it.
 
But still, I miss having a mid afternoon wank, so off to school you pop son.
 
Schools are still open here with clusters popping up everywhere and the concerned schools not even closing. Instead the government has introduced a new REINFORCED school safety protocol: keeping the windows open more often :)

Oh yeah its a pisstake, but we found out this week his year has hardly any kids in, one of his mates has got a place just because his parents are too busy, so if theres space and we’re not jeopardising anyone who legit needs it, then I’m having it. Dog eat dog init.
 
We also consulted a couple of teacher mates too, and they said go for it.
 
I think he’d be classed as vulnerable anyway, based on his emotional state and late start.

There will be thousands of others in the same situation whose parents are also struggling but still doing what's best for society.

Exceptionalism is making things worse.

from my perspective as someone who is both in school with key workers and simultaneously doing online learning with my class: i empathise that it absolutely is hard for parents to manage homeschooling and the messages that go out should be to just try your best and not to worry too much as we can catch the children up. But it’s hard for everyone and you finding a loophole to send your child in is probably not something you should be celebrating on here.

my best friend at work spent Christmas on a ventilator and is only now just on the road to recovery. If you don’t have to send your child in, keep them at home.

This isnt about me, its about him. He already had intervention at school before lockdown, support hes lost. We’d already contacted the school about it before i got my letter. Its a plan b. He needs the help hes lost, its been very hard admitting we cant provide it, I don’t need your sanctimonious bullshit thanks.

I don't. We'd already approached the school before I got my spurious status, I was being facetious. While I'm typing this I'm listening to a child have a meltdown, but you keep judging.
 
they will announce further Corona measures for the Netherlands tonight with rumours of an 8pm-4am curfew so even having a couple of friends over on a weekend is going to get difficult.

and both of my housemates are away for the next 3 weeks so I'm totally alone. :( don't know how I'm going to keep my spirits up in the weeks ahead

work just asked me to work Saturday (optionally, for more money) which normally i wouldn't even consider but now I'm like WELL ELSE will i do? eat and masturbate?

I was surprised that having friends over in the first place was still allowed there.

I actually really enjoyed my couple of weeks quarantining in December BUT I did still have work to help me appreciate the down time all the more, so I say go for it if you’re getting more money for the Saturday work and then you can kind of appreciate the solitude you do have for that time.
 
that's my thinking. and i did just get hit with an unexpected tax bill of 100 euros so working Saturday would take care of that :D

God. I hate adulthood.
