You are all inhabitants of a village. Some of the villagers are members of the Mafia and are trying to kill everyone who isn't a member. The game starts with the Day phase, where all villagers try to decide who is in the Mafia and execute one of their number. We then proceed to the Night phase, where the Mafia will decide on one villager to assassinate. The game continues until either all the Mafia are dead (villagers win) or the Mafia outnumber the villagers (Mafia win). There may be a twist or two as we go along, but I'll explain those at the time.
