Where do Tisch and Iguana live? Why are there mice running all over them?

I microwaved it and emptied it onto one of our nice plates! :emoji_frowning2:

I wouldn’t be able to cope with that, everything would have to be binned, including the kitchen.

In my previous flat I used to swear on the Bible that I’d wake up and hear scratching sounds from inside my room, but everytime I turned the light on to investigate I couldn’t find anything. Scratch scratch. Then when I moved out I was emptying the room and discovered my bed had a pull out drawer component, and inside that was...

Mice try to come indoors in winter in the UK. My house backs onto a park so most years since we got rid of the snake I have to deal with at least one infestation because the fieldmice move in to keep warm.

This makes sense. I assumed they'd all be hibernating so was quite surprised at the few we've had recently.

It is just a few though! I'm sure the one in the packet of rice was direct from the factory :D were not completely riddled really. :eyes:

:D sounds nice though!

It was lovely for the first couple of days, I'd put oil on cotton-wool balls and stuck them behind radiators as was suggested so it was really minty when the heating came on. It soon became nauseating and I get a cold shiver now whenever I smell peppermint.

Mice don't hibernate. If that mouse was in the rice direct from the factory it would have chewed its way out ages ago!. If a mouse's whiskers can fit through a gap so can the mouse. The gap under our birdcage where a pregnant mouse was living (so she could come out at night and eat kakariki food) was less than half a centimetre! Mr F was scoffing at me when I said I thought it was under the cage until he lifted the cage up and there she was, surrounded by days-worth of sunflower seed casings.

Kit Kat didn't give a fuck when we had a rat.

Oh, my cat once brought a rat home with him. I mean, it was dead but he'd plainly done the job himself and was well proud of himself.

:(

So are you saying I shouldnt claim my £2.50 back from poor Uncle Ben because it was probably the cats?

If you can get it back from Uncle Ben go for it but you might get laughed out of town. If it had been in the box since the factory the mouse would either have been dead already because dried rice expands in stomachs when animals eat it (that's why you can't throw it at weddings any more) or the rice would have been full of mouse poo. Mice poo and wee every time they eat and they do it wherever they are standing.

My Nan’s very ill :( She was violently sick yesterday all around her house, is in a state of utter confusion and fell out of bed during the night and couldn’t get up off the floor. She’s my world and I feel so helpless.

Any update?

Not sure how it is, when I haven't posted your email or name or anything except a contraction of your previous username, but I'll edit out if you want.

Obviously we're a bit JUMPY today especially about former users who may still have beef with us.

Well either way, I think you’d call it extremely poor form.

I’m entitled to sign up to this forum and read posts without a public announcement that I posted here a decade ago (and was bullied mercilessly, mainly for being female and having a personality).

But you always were one to ingratiate yourself with more domineering posters.

No need to edit anything, thanks Kate.

Also, I’ve signed in with this account loads of times recently (well, it’s a pandemic) to read about Mariah stuff etc and you didn’t see fit to do it then.

I guess it must be your minor internet scandal today that has you understandably jumpy but no doubt it will blow over, if it ever even blew under.

She’s been admitted and has an infection somewhere, although the doctor wasn’t quite sure where yet. It might be on her chest as he said there was a bit of crackling when he listened.

What makes me more worried is that she is severely dehydrated. I really don’t know what else I can do. I’m always telling her to drink more fluids, but it’s like banging my head against a brick wall. Why won’t she keep herself hydrated?!

(GDPR only relates to personal information and an anonymised user name doesnt fall under the regs but lets not stop another scandal)

It's nice to know you're here regardless of how it came up.

Nans are stubborn buggers x

You’ll need to make 500 posts to see that I’m afraid!
