5 just isn't nearly enough.
The blue sky, beaming lustre of the Sledge, Norma and Luther all sprouting rainbows from their throats on the We Are Family album is an unmatched masterstroke. Diana's Diana is near impeccable, her sultry jurisdiction (I say to thee) and flighty flushes (she's coming out, just don't tell her) show her to be a far more accomplished vocalist with what she's given credit for or even technically knowledgeable about herself (I love the stories of her recording session hissy fits about changing keys and producers giving in verbally and keeping it just so anyway - not on this album though, this was it's own battle, which is well documented and settled with the reissue). Norma's solo Chic songs don't all hit home runs, but the galvanizing Sorcerer is a lava flow of disco if ever I heard one and Saturday is every bit as iconic as a the other good times (and don't forget the mash potat'ah - the twee Havin' A Party is a decent addition where better original material wasn't forthcoming).
I Like Love, it's joyful, hopeless, gushing commitment diffuses even the worst of times, side splitter of all side splitters Lost In Music is the horizon point, Thinking of You is as pure as sure, the airkiss Upside Down is disco with sequins and chandelier earings, and Everybody Dance is as sure fire arms aloft today as it probably was then.
Also, they used this track as the intro for one of the old Melodifestivalen, and I used it for AllaFestivalen
