There are some fabulous examples of songs about other singers (Maroon 5 - Moves Like Jagger) and some not so great ones (The Wanted - Walks Like Rihanna)

What are your favourite pop star referential bops?

Foo Fighters Let It Die and I’ll Stick Around also allegedly about her
 
Kim Wilde's "Who Do You Think You Are" is rumoured to be about Madonna.
 
Okay but less rumoured... just full on paying homage

The story goes that Geri wanted Richard X to give her Some Girls to record, then locked herself in her car when he refused. He then wrote Me Plus One in response

Not sure that Richard himself has ever gone on record to confirm that exact story, but Annie has definitely said that the song is about Geru

I also remember reading that the barking samples on the song are Geri's dog, but that sounds like it could be a MYTH

Oh WHO CAN FORGET the Geri/ Richard X story?! :D Didn't know about the Annie connection.

At least Geri is one laughing now, with her lucrative YouTube career.
 
Me Plus One is absolutely horrible: the "wannabe senorita" being told to "take a look at yourself ... get out of the car" (like some puta) with "it's over, it's gone" being especially brutal. All the while "sung" by an airvent :disco:

10/10 obviously

I always thought this bit made it clear too, referencing the group, when she left and Wannabe? I assume the señorita is used because of her ongoing babble about being half Spanish.

Now this wannabe señorita
met a group of likely girls
Traded posters and the voxpops
for jetting round the world
But it didn't make her happy
and now she flies alone
