I love how Faceshopping SUDDENLY changes its course halfway through

The lyrics are all about changing your face to make it big on social media etc, which is also partly why she had those big prosthetic cheeks for all the promo stuff :D

I honestly cannot deal with this one, in my listens to her music since her death this is the one that's been hardest to listen to.

I also read she had planned to remain anonymous throughout her career so I guess it's a nod to that as well

I’ve not listened to the remix album for a while but doesn’t it get reprised several times throughout?

I know it's tempting to take the whole album as a transition metaphor and I'm not really qualified to comment, but I always took it to be about making that first big leap in accepting yourself.

I'm not going to attempt to rate each song, but Is It Cold In The Water was my favorite so far (the swirling synths near the end especially)

Scuse my ignorance but did she sing as well? Cos I liked that a lot.
She only does the vocals on It's Okay To Cry - most of the other vocals are by Cecile Believe, who has a few good songs of her own that I'll link to later :disco:

Infatuation is subtler, but still has SO MUCH going on in the production - I really find it quite amazing how everything is layered.

You can tell I don't have much formal musical education, can't you :D I just LIKE WHAT I LIKE

Relatable. All I ever have to say about music is "I like it," "it makes me want to dance" or "its melancholy"

Speaking of, this album makes me want to dance less than I expected, but I like it more than I expected?

Not Okay is a bit of an interlude, and is sort of a breather moment despite also being quite noisy and urgent :D

Pretending is obviously FULLY ambient - I actually get a bit of Brian Eno's atmospheric stuff from the start of it.

I know what you mean! Oftentimes I'll write a post with abstruse words just to make myself look more cleverer

I thought abstruse was a purposeful misspelling of obtuse until I looked it up so clearly I'm the MOST clever
