Frozen’s COUNTRY DIVAS sync listen - 15/02/21 8pm

I haven't looked ahead or anything but I like that this is so far seeming more america-centric than the ones that crossed over into Europe. I haven't really explored much country that wasn't hugely successful over here so I think I'll learn a fair bit tonight!

Track 1: Faith Hill - Take Me As I Am

Track 2 : Martina McBride - Safe In The Arms Of Love

Track 3: Pam Tillis - Sunset Red & Pale Moonlight

This is purely an album track so only a lyric video I'm afraid. One of my fave Pam Tillis songs, the album is well worth checking out.

Oh Pam Tillis, I know her. I remember listening to the occasional American Country Countdown in the US Armed Forces Radio during the summer, long time ago.

Loved hearing "Safe in the Arms of Love" again

This Pam Tillis song is new to me but loving it so far. A great discovery for sure!

Track 4: Trisha Yearwood - There Goes My Baby

I had such a hard time trying to choose one Trisha song. She's my favourite country singer so there was a wealth to choose from.

Trisha Yearwood definitely has so many good songs, this being one of them.

Probably in a minority who preferred her version of "How Do I Live?".

Nope, I can't listen to Leann's version at all.

Track 5: Suzy Bogguss - Aces

This was released as a single but no video was ever made. Suzy had a handful of hits in the early 90s, this being one of her biggest.

Never heard of her, nice! This is not my favourite type of country but I’m still very much enjoying

Track 6: Wynonna - I Saw The Light

Until this week, I never knew a video for this song existed. I'm hit and miss when it comes to Wynonna, when she's good she's great but there's an awful lot of dross. This is one of her better efforts.

Track 7: Juice Newton - Queen Of Hearts

A @Tisch recommendation that I'd not heard for years. I remember liking this whenever CMT would play it back in the day.

Track 8: Dolly Parton - Potential New Boyfriend

I went with this perf over the video for obvious reasons :D

Love this Dolly one.

I had heard that Queen of Hearts for sure but I don’t think it was through playing GTA

Track 9: Lorrie Morgan - Something In Red

A signature song from country royalty Lorrie here, went with this one on @Alla's recommendation.

So mesmerising tune and haunting voice, it really brings back a certain nostalgia. :)

That last triumphant minute. <3

Track 10: Reba McEntire - Fancy

What good would a Country Divas playlist be without a track from the Queen?

Before I knew who Reba was, I remember reading her name as winner of the AMA for female country performance year after year.
