it’s just that there’s a big difference between the underlying symptoms category (March to April) and the all other adults category (June to September). So I kinda wanna know which one I am!

Pretty sure controlled asthma is later. I have asthma too and I desperately want my mum to have the vaccine before millions of asthmatics do to be honest.

If any of you know over 60s who haven't been offered the vaccine yet, they can book online (I think this is just for England but I'm not sure):

My friend has controlled asthma and she's just been offered the vaccine.

I have controlled asthma and I haven't. I wasn't expecting to, to be honest.

I’d hate to question the maths skills of engineering graduate Carol Vordeman, but I wonder if it is 60+. The previous page says 64+.
 
My sister in Qatar (works in a hospital) got her first jab! That’s the closest a jab has got to me :o (not geographically speaking)

In fairness, you do look like you're right - but equally I think they're not too bothered if someone a couple of years outside the age bracket shows up.
 
There's a local Asda that are a hub for the vaccine, apparently the other day they announced over the tannoy saying they had spare vaccine so anyone over 55 could go!
 
I'm hearing this kinda stuff everywhere. Sounds like they just have spare everywhere. Which is a good thing - but please just shove one in my arm someone.

I know! A friend on fb said today she got hers because she had gestational diabetes 16 years ago. Seems mad she gets that and yet you guys don't :(
 
It's all just algorithms again in databases rather than any actual sense. I'm sure the majority of people with 'underlying health conditions' are perfectly safe, but they just have to cover themselves.

Unless you're a teacher or a police officer it seems. Then... who cares?
 
I was talking to an ICU nurse today, they were saying to still be careful out there, they've seen several people this week in ICU despite having had the jab.
 
Mum having hers on Sunday now. Which I feel is a direct reward for her watching It's A Sin this week. :D
 
Was at the hospital yesterday for check-ups and my main doctor seemed to be pretty sure I'll be vaccinated next time I'm due for an appointment (early-mid May) -- I feel that's optimistic but if that's the case I'll take it. I'm gonna be super busy with work for the next 4 weeks and won't have any notable human interaction other than buying my groceries; I was thinking about visiting parents and friends in April, we'll see how that shakes out. Might as well wait we all had both jabs.

But we're definitely on the slower side here - my dad is over 70 and he hasn't been contacted yet/hasn't been able to register up until 3 days ago. My mum and I should be contacted around the same time late in spring then, I reckon.

It's self-imposed but also a little by default. All my close friends and family live 300 miles away from where I live and the only one or two close friends of mine that I'd consider seeing are living across the border. So I'm staying put in my village at the foot of the mountains, work, hike and yodel. :disco: :D
 
I think we must be the slowest country. The portal for over 65 to get an appointment will be launched by mid March which means I won’t be getting a turn till august/September at best.

I didn’t leave the Middle East for this shit.
 
One of my colleagues was recalled to have the jab again because she hadn’t been given the full dose.

This rolling out to 50-59, then 40-49, then 30-39 then 20-29 thing is bizarre.

A friend of mine is a teacher in his 30s... his boyfriend is a retail worker (not in a shop, works from home at the moment) in his 20s. The boyfriend has just been offered the vaccine while my friend hasn't.

So they can say what they like about 'we need to prioritise older people before key workers'... but that's not ACTUALLY happening. It seems to be a free for all in some parts of the country.

I know, we shouldn't complain, as at least the country is doing better than most - but I really would just like some kind of confirmation that I'll be getting the vaccine at some point soon with 1300 kids acting as vectors of transmission around me every day. The people who think that we can just 'socially distance' have obviously never worked in a school before.
 
I just got my second dose. I feel a little guilty because I’m young and there are people who need it more than me. The state of Georgia has fucked this up so badly
 
Turns out my mum hasn't been jabbing people at all and there's been some sort of COCK UP. She's close to telling them to poke it but is persisting as she's had to sit through quite a lot of hours of "training" up to now (this is a 40-year qualified nurse who was up to matron level when she retired just btw!) Baffling.

I think cos she's retired and not officially on the books but she's also not a complete layman to the whole process she's just got lost in the ether. There's been lots of queries about whether she still has her ID badge or not (she does) so honestly god knows what they need at this point. I've said she should write to our local paper but she's a bit worried about coming across a bit:
