Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Rebirth, and Revelation

One more bit of news - the Remake soundtrack is being added to Spotify and other streaming services today.

God they’re milking those assets to death.

Ever Crisis has also been announced, and it's another mobile game :eyes:

So this is like an upgrade of the original FFVII, keeping the turn-based battles and most of the presentation but polishing it for 2021? I'd rather play THIS than FFVIIR, to be honest. Release it on the Switch, Square!

They really should! FFXV Pocket Edition did end up on consoles, so there's probably a good chance I'd say.

Not yet :( I'm still expecting them to release FFXVI before Remake part 2, maybe we'll end up getting them both next year if we're LUCKY. I reckon XVI in winter 2022 and Remake part 2 in March 2023 could be likely, based upon not much at all :tongueout:

XVI looks super good anyway tbh, so I don't mind waiting. I actually want more info on THAT.

I am loving hearing all these tracks with excellent quality, rather than the dodgy ripped versions I had before. Shame that the track names are in Japanese though in the Western release, makes finding things a bit trial and error.

However, I have found my favourite, and it FUCKS :disco:

Can you find me the Stamp theme song please? :emoji_heart_eyes::emoji_dog2:

Jenova Dreamweaver is still absolutely, indisputably, 100% that bitch:

The way I SCREAMED when the bit around 4:00 happened in the game :disco:

New Intergrade trailer:

:disco: at more of Scarlet, but :manson: at EVEN MORE nonsense Dirge of Cerberus characters showing up. Why?!

I’m right back obsessed with this again now with the DLC. Yuffie is amazing to play, and the Fort Condor mini game is excellent!

I wouldn’t worry about it too much. They’re hardly in it and there’s no backstory about them.

I'm letting ZG monopolise the PS5 so will play it once he's finished, but I'm quite excited!

Still can't really decide how I feel about it all, I did enjoy the first part of the remake but still feel a bit uneasy about the direction it's taking.

The reason I bought the PS4 was for this and XV and I've not even finished the latter, not sure I'd buy a PS5 just for part 2 and certainly wouldn't buy one for the exclusive DLC...

Got much further in tonight, and I am having a blast. Yuffie's gameplay has clicked for me now and it is tons of fun.

Also, is it too late to change my ASFM villain to QoL Scarlet? I have loved every second of screentime she has had so far.

Isn’t she an absolute joy to play?
Scarlet has always been my favourite villain in FFVII. I CAN’T WAIT for the slap fight in part 58.

Oh man I'm so out of the loop. There's a DLC?!!
You play as Yuffie roughly the same time the remake part 1 happens. There’s also a Fort Condor mini game which I’ve also become obsessed with :o
I literally love everything about the world of this game.

There was just a FFVII 25th anniversary stream with a few announcements, the big ones being:
  • Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (the sequel to Remake) will be released NEXT WINTER
  • The Remake series will consist of three games in total
  • Crisis Core is getting a remake, out this winter on all formats
Also some stuff about mobile games etc, but PFFT

I didn't enjoy the Remake much at all, until the final few chapters at least, so I think I'll skip this and focus on XVI instead.

Now THIS is more like it. Now I’m excited. So much information to gleam from such a short trailer!

FFXVI is just looking like dull action to me at the moment. This is RPG goodness.

How on Earth are they going to cram the post-Midgar game into two games when they stretched out what is essentially the initial 15% of the original game into a 30 hour game?

I know Midgar was ripe for exploring more than they did in the original game, but so were many other places! Imagine a fully fleshed-out Gold Saucer, or Cosmo Canyon or Junon (I really liked where the storyline goes in Junon and the airfield base).

Although the original Midgar was short in hours, it contained a third of the CGI, Backgrounds and Text. I think they’ll be fine.

The twist is that Remake isn't really a remake - it's revealed that certain characters are aware of the events of the original game, and by the end of the first part things have already diverged quite a bit. I expect the sequel to lean into that side of things even more, and by the end of the trilogy god knows where things will go :o
