Old TOTP (BBC4)

I really didn't think they'd play LFO. What a record. And Tricky Disco not far behind :disco:

I remember there being so many more dance bangers in 1990 than there have been on the pops so far. And I wasn't even taking drugs :)

Reliving the HORROR/JOY that was Timmy Mallet and I wondered what happened to his two backup dancers.

Turns out one of them went on to marry Gary Barlow.

And I thought Isty Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini would be the most degrading moment of her life, as opposed to the whole of her married life.

The STATE of the Human League.

First sighting of recent number 1 one star Maria Carrey

Watching the latest episode now. I used to like that Jason Donovan song for some reason.

Also I dare anyone to name a Paul McCartney solo song after the 80s. What was that Birthday shit?

Some of these episodes have been a bit of a slog.

The two Jason performances of I'm Doing Fine have been a new level of cringeworthy for him and I had completely wiped my memory of this Paul Simon song.

I've kinda lost interest for a while. Think I'm holding out for the Europop explosion.

It was around this time where I’d be more interested in watching TOTP for the music videos rather than the studio performances.

I’m holding out for the Milli Vanilli scandal to hit soon when they forced everyone to start singing live.

We’re behind too, but yes, 1990 was a transition year more than anything else. 1991 too really. Plus the big hits being novelty, film-based, reissues or of US origin meant not the performances you want in the studio.

I mean, the faces of boredom on the crowd during The Proclaimers. :D

Don’t get me started on Jason Donovan as well- truly the nadir of his career to this point and the beginning of the end.

The BBC’s treatment of TOTP over the last few weeks has been fucking shocking. Cancelled last minute tonight for the fucking SNOOKER.

DEFUND THE BEEB.

Since BBC 4 is going to be "archive only", is there any news on The Story of 1991 or if that's going to continue? Also since it's "archive only", that surely means they won't be showing the Snooker on there in the future, or do they make an exception for fucking sport?

I'm just catching up and Malandra Burrows came on. I googled her and found this picture
