On the other hand my two most favourites came 20th and 40th and the winner wasn't even on my final shortlist, therefore i feel i have good reasons to suspect Tasmania 😈 rigged it. Ah yes now I remember that Gabriella Apron song. I thought it was really good until the chorus happened. Similarly to Ag’s song which I just couldn’t give points to because of that one bit that is so similar to Gotye. I detest that Gotye song.
 
I really don't understand how @Beverley's song was so low, it's only dawning now. Normally I think I'm reasonably good at guessing what does well, and being my 20-pointer, I'm baffled (or way off the mark apparently). It's such a wonderful banger, so RICH. I do think it peters out at the end, but those initial 3 minutes or so are JOY. It seemed to have everything moopy loved but oh well 🤷‍♀️

I don't think anyone hated Gabrielle Aplin Dead, but it was just baffling how she hoovered up points.

@Iguana and @Superstylin' deserved much better with those efforts, such good songs! @Lucille too but the ass song was obviously going to divide people. I'm delighted for @COB too because I thought it would be entirely forgotten. And @funky for the same reasons

Sorry @Rita I really did think you'd finish higher, but as was the case with myself, I suspect it was one of those songs that *just* missed out with loads of people. I still really like it

This "not on spotify" thing is tiresome now. How hard can it be?! I wasn't likely to vote for Toni anyway but I only remembered it at the end, I really can't be arsed next time. I want to listen to them all together!

Yes, it is rather tiresome reading these comments, I agree (:))

I put my song into the contest as I was very excited about it (I even went and paid £10 for the single off ebay yesterday to blast it in the car), and that's really the only factor I go by when entering. If you don't vote or listen to my song for this reason, I'm okay with that.

Tisch said it was okay if a song wasn't on spotify from the get go anyway - if our next host stipulates spotify is required then I'll make sure my chosen entry is there (and 2 out of my 3 next non-themed entries are actually there, heaven forbid the fun get sucked out of a light hearted internet song contest for anyone).

Obviously you're free to do what you want, and it clearly did well enough. I have given points to youtube only songs before. I might again if I like them. I wasn't being entirely serious (or sober). It was the results show so who was? Not here to suck out the fun, or anyone else's.

My point was as time goes on I suppose I'm surprised that people don't have several songs they'd happily enter, with the likelihood of one being on Spotify. I'm sure I can't be alone when, post viewing parties, the way I listen to them, either in the house or out and about, is via the Spotify playlist (which then gets edited into favourites quite often) so it's kind of jarring and a bit annoying when only one or two aren't as it can be easy to forget them etc. That's all.
 
I understand. I'm not overthinking the songs I choose and am more than happy to comply with the rules if and when they changed.

I was hoping for a more feisty reply though as I had a lovely pun to cut any tension if it went there :D
 
To be honest I have no problem if the rules state no Spotify is ok, but you will get people like me who skim read everything and don’t notice that there are songs missing! I only used the Spotify list and won’t have been noticed that there are songs I didn’t even listen to. I guess that’s the chance you take.

As a responsible moopsie I always remember to check whether something was only on Youtube but it's a pain. :(
 
Okaaaay, let's move on. I am still down to host November, so until then I'll make a point of catering to the spotify platform.

I could really do with a sassy Toni Halliday gif, but a 140p finger wave from the video isn't quite going to cut it.
