All those Sundays will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

Morning all
Trying to work down my regular to-do list and my Moopy to-do list. Finally confronting my Cunning Linguist challenge

Morning. I forgot to take an antihistamine yesterday and slept with the bedroom window on the latch last night. I've woken this morning with a blocked nose, a headache with cotton-wool brain and a blocked right ear in which I have loud heartbeat tinnitus.

Can somebody please take me round the back of the barn and shoot me?

bonjour moopy.

I've felt stupidly down this weekend for some reason, so am gonna try to shake it off today with some exercise and a walk and drinks with a friend later.

It’s raining today so my hayfever’s going mental. Tablet, nose spray, eye drops... not making a bit of difference.
I’ve never known it to affect my ears, mind; do you tend to get it quite severely?

Been up and done my shopping. Dunno what to do with myself today so you'll probs get shitposted while I listen to The Residents.

Hello

Bbq yesterday to complete three days of being social in a row.

Now I just want to hide

I’m going back home today as I have another group of shifts lined up at work.

I can’t be arsed with trains now it’s summer and social distancing is DEAD.

Reading in the garden and inevitably getting distracted by gardening, kinda afternoon I think.

I get hayfever weirdly, it's more of an annoyance than a proper condition :D

It basically fills my head up with mucus (which tends to settle on whichever side I've slept on) and brings me out in random heat lumps, no problem at all with itchy-eyes thankfully (although that's what hits my brother worst). It was a GP that told me it was hayfever years ago and she was surprised that I hadn't connected the dots. The blocked ear has almost drained away now and I can barely hear my pulse so we're all good. I did not forget my antihistamine today!

Oh god, I just came across Madonna's Instagram. What's going on there? I didn't even recognise her, she's looking a bit bride of Wildenstein :o

I went to Manchester yesterday and it was bustling, people out drinking, dressed up, even queuing to get in places. It was emotional.

My hayfever always calms down when there's rain. But hopefully I'm over the worst of it now anyway. March to May is usually peak time for me.

Didn't we have a moopy glossary somewhere?
@Mugatu did one in 2015, but NAR isn't on it!

BHS Café - (n) Its meaning is typically enquired about. A den of iniquity frequented by fatigued elderly shoppers, usually serving tea, toasted sandwiches and Bacchanalian sexual perversion. Source

Fiercely heterosexual - (adj) A person driven to mild self-delusion owing to, for example, their powerful sexual attraction to Cherly 'Cheryl' Cole and other female pop singers with songs that coincidentally fill the bulk of said poster's iPod, or frequent need to "change the gender references", if we're to believe the papers - see "apologise on-screen" regarding that definition.

It will be okay - A reassuring yet intensely patronising putdown. Some consider it a life mantra. Typically inked upon bare skin. Source

Moulton Brown - (n) An expensive handwash favoured by the upper middle-class, as a show of wealth or general superiority that frequently leads to bitter hierarchical conflict - see "superior queens". Source

QOL - (acro.) Queen of Life. A typically female person that is considered to be fabulous. Popular Moopy parlance circa. 2011, has since fallen into occasional use - see "gay coma".

Queen - (n) 1. (n) Literally any gay person. 2. (n) When followed with an exclamation mark and usually capitalised, a sign of approval - see "QOL".
Superior queen - Typically a London-based gay man with access to substantial personal wealth, casual self-obsession and the ability to put down lesser posters/popstars in a scathing fashion.
Vanilla queen - A poster with interests in more sedate, unchallenging music stars and sexual practices - see "undiscerning gay".

SNIPPETS? CREDITS? - (n) A phrase commonly used in the lead-up to a major release, indicating feverish excitement at the ability to hear a tinny 10-second version of said track recorded by a mentally unstable gay on an iPhone or learn whoever Beyoncé is slightly changing the words of this time.

Steam cleaners - (n) A popular way to indicate maturity and a clean household, often a topic of daily threads when there's nothing else to discuss other than shiny, shiny surfaces.

:manson: - An indication of vociferous displeasure in smilie form.

:disco: - A pure expression of joy.

[REDACTED FOR NEW MOOPY]

It's easy to think that everyone knows, but clearly not. 'NAR' means NOT ABBA RELATED and was used in the old dotmusic Abba forum for off topic threads.

That forum was my introduction to dot, and was largely ruled (or so they thought) by two middle aged American women called MaryS and MR, I think. They were both rather highly strung. @Ag will know a lot more as he probably felt their wrath far more than me.

Oh I barely remember. But yes highly strung and NAR was a bizarre keepsake from that era!
