The thought of them saying masks/distancing is no longer needed does unsettle me a bit. I hate the thought of having to work so closely with the public in a small/unventilated room without masks. I know the risk is small but I'd feel better if we still had to wear masks for such situations.
 
Personally, and selfishly, working in a pub right now life would be MUCH EASIER without the rules even though 99.9% of people are happily compliant, although I’m RAKING IT IN from the fact everyone gets charged service on table service.

Have you had much trouble? Are you personally having to throw people out and/or ask people if their from the same household? It must be the worst part of people's jobs as that's not something they ever signed up to do!

I'm telling clients now they can remove their masks - but only if they agree to remain 2m away. And don't turn up off their faces on crack.

We do a DON’T ASK/DON’T TELL policy on the household rule, and are generally pretty lax with the rules, especially for regulars/friends. The fact that everyone has to be seated means we can be quite PICKY with who we let in, so anyone who seems like trouble just gets told we’re fully booked.
 
Again, there‘s BARELY any restrictions at the minute anyway. And even where there is, people find a way around it.
 
Yeah I don’t really care about a delay of 4 weeks, as I can do most things I’d like to do now anyway. I’d LIKE to go to a nightclub (or sauna :eyes: ) but don’t think I’d feel comfortable until I’m fully vaccinated and I’m hardly in a RUSH.
 
I'd be happy if the restrictions were lifted the day before I see Jessie Ware in December.
 
As for international holidays, now my weekend in Paris come October looks unlikely, my next planned one is a wedding in Cyprus NEXT JUNE.
 
I’m GAGGING to spend my redundancy money on a fabulous trip and not just slowly waste it away on COKE over the next 12 months.
 
I was just about to put GAGGING in capitals then scrolled down and was beaten to it!

Anyway I'm GAGGING to get back to beer festivals. It's been so long ;~; And we're talking months after the final unlocking which is getting delayed. However I'm happy to wait another month in our current conditions rather than end up going backwards and having to close the pubs and restaurants etc
 
Four week delay to lifting restrictions confirmed to the BBC by government sources.

I STILL don't understand why these things are leaked before they're officially announced, to soften the blow when the announcement is made? I don't get it!
 
I had a gig (won’t say who :basil::shy:) in early July which I think this delay will now scupper.

I've got the theatre later in July. Should be okay if they don't go beyond 4 weeks.
 
It seems Scotland had planned to lift restrictions on the 28th...no word if there will be a delay to that as yet.
 
29% of the 42 people that died with the new Delta variant were double vaccinated. Obviously ANYONE dying is not good, but a 71% success rate is still pretty damn good, right?
 
Hard to draw any sort of conclusions from a sample size of 42, good or bad, but also there will be a certain number of people with weakened immune systems, frail and elderly etc
