Wednesday is coming home

Blimey, my Erasmus flat was €176 per month and I paid it in cash! It did look like a prison though.
Weren't you in Germany? That's amazing.

Mine was quite nice in fairness but it was still a normal sized room on a shared floor with 11 others, and it was a good 30 mins walk to the uni.

Cute though.

We're having to pay a full year's rent to secure a house we found today, because our credit is fucked. We've secured the money through begging and borrowing and find out tomorrow if the potential landlady agrees. I had to lie to get this far, which I feel rotten about, but it was the only way.

If we get it, it's a massive upgrade. It's basically a family home up there with Tischguana's palace.

If this falls through we're basically going on the council list. Unbelievable contrast.

Germany yeah, in the heart of the Black Forest. Loved the place but felt a bit like it had gone a bit downhill when I went back in 2015. My floor was shared with 16 with one kitchen and one big shower room I think, but it was absolutely fine. No-one ever came in the shower while anyone else was in there. Mine was a good walk from the town as well, but the tram links were amazing.

If you've secured the money, what more can they do? And you'll live more or less rent free for a year thereafter, so fingers crossed for you!

Doesn't stop that being an absolute bastard move though.

I studied abroad (which is similar to Erasmus I think) in London and it was super expensive. I probably should have chosen somewhere cheaper, but I loved it so I don't really regret that

It's not rent free, we're paying it back. Renting is a fucking war zone right now. I haven't mentioned my stresses relating to renting on here, but it seemed relevant to the conversation.
