Morning loves, it took me AGES to get back home last night because everyone was celebrating in the streets :D

I’m still quite giddy :disco::england:

Is something gay happening in Glasgow right now (apart from my arrival of course :basil:)? I noticed a lot of vests, middle aged arms flailing around, flags and roads cut off whilst getting into the gym.

We've all but lost the house we got yesterday, despite offering a years rent in advance. I genuinely think that in our circumstances nowhere will have us. I applied to go onto the council list, but it's gonna take two years.

I literally don't know what to do. We're gonna have no home soon.

One day we're all going to get together and map out what actually takes place during a cob session :shock: 🌽

The gag is professionally we're both heading for better things. I'm potentially 12 months away from being a teacher and he's about to be made office manager. And yet we can't rent a house despite having the money. None of it makes sense.

Ag have you tried contacting Shelter? I know they’ve helped people I’ve known in the past. May be worth a try if you haven’t already.

Sorry Ag. I don't get it either. What makes you think you've lost the house, despite getting the money together?
I have no job and he has a bad credit rating, which ironically is only visible because he got an IVA to cover his loans.

I lied about having a job yesterday. We wouldn't have been accepted in the first place if I'd have been honest, which I felt I had to do to even get a look in. That hasn't gone down well. It's pretty dire.

Would you be able to get a guarantor? That's usually what happens when someone technically doesn't meet the OTT requirements to rent.

Landlords to die, Mao was right ETC

You'd think offering A YEAR UPFRONT would allay most fears!

Maybe. It doesn't seem to be enough, such is the situation.

My parents would, but are retired. The only non retired parent is the mother in law, who for all her Christianity is utterly selfish.

Have you officially started your teacher training now? Would the college or whoever you're training through be able to help?

Ive got a friend who is a self employed IMMIGRANT and she has to do the year upfront thing but it does work

Oh, I didn’t even realise being retired would prevent that. My Dad was a guarantor for me one time but that was years ago. Mind you he still hasn’t retired. I thought you just had to be a UK homeowner.
