The gag is professionally we're both heading for better things. I'm potentially 12 months away from being a teacher and he's about to be made office manager. And yet we can't rent a house despite having the money. None of it makes sense. We've all but lost the house we got yesterday, despite offering a years rent in advance. I genuinely think that in our circumstances nowhere will have us. I applied to go onto the council list, but it's gonna take two years.
I literally don't know what to do. We're gonna have no home soon.
I have no job and he has a bad credit rating, which ironically is only visible because he got an IVA to cover his loans.Sorry Ag. I don't get it either. What makes you think you've lost the house, despite getting the money together?
Would you be able to get a guarantor? That's usually what happens when someone technically doesn't meet the OTT requirements to rent.I have no job and he has a bad credit rating, which ironically is only visible because he got an IVA to cover his loans.
I lied about having a job yesterday. We wouldn't have been accepted in the first place if I'd have been honest, which I felt I had to do to even get a look in. That hasn't gone down well. It's pretty dire.
Maybe. It doesn't seem to be enough, such is the situation.Would you be able to get a guarantor? That's usually what happens when someone technically doesn't meet the OTT requirements to rent.
IKR!Landlords to die, Mao was right ETC
You'd think offering A YEAR UPFRONT would allay most fears!
Exactly, the LL shouldn't care about the situation when they have a YEAR's worth of rent in the bank. I don't get it at allLandlords to die, Mao was right ETC

Oh, I didn’t even realise being retired would prevent that. My Dad was a guarantor for me one time but that was years ago. Mind you he still hasn’t retired. I thought you just had to be a UK homeowner.Maybe. It doesn't seem to be enough, such is the situation.
My parents would, but are retired. The only non retired parent is the mother in law, who for all her Christianity is utterly selfish.
Oh and If you need a fake job just give me a shout![]()

Thanks. It's mostly student house shares round here.Have you tried https://www.openrent.co.uk ? A lot of private landlords use that to skip all the agency fees and checks etc. There might be some reasonable ones there. At least for something short term before you find somewhere ideal.
Why not, fake jobs for everyone! Is that open to anyone...?
What? Why didn't you say anything sooner?MOOPYVISION KARAOKE TOMORROW NIGHT
