Saturday besieged by flies

I had the weirdest moopy dream last night. We went to a moop meet at @Star 's house. I remember me, star, funky, lolly, Kate & Slave being there.

All sat around having dinner and Stars language was absolutely vulgar. To the point we all sat there completely shocked at what she was saying.

Then she told us Iguana lived above her. Then I woke up.

Brown is food for us. Green is garden waste, which the council have suspended indefinitely, despite us paying for it in addition to the two grand odd council tax we already pay. Apparently they will be getting in touch about a refund. I'd rather you just take the stinking sacks I have in the garage, thanks.

we have brown for food waste and gardening waste, black is regular bin, and recycling in smaller black boxes with different coloured lids to separate on a trolley.

Oh green also has to accommodate garden waste around here. They dropped collections to once a month - again, this was after they started charging for it.

Brown food, green bin garden waste, green tray plastics and metals, blue bag cardboard, black tray all other recyclables, black bin landfill.

It's like doing the Krypton Factor every Monday night.

Black wheelie bin for general, black box Ride on time for plastic/glass and blue box for paper. Green sacks for garden which they brought back recently which I'm thrilled with because not having that was nightmare. On the occasional times I decide to garden I can fill up 8 sacks easily. (:ken: :horny: etc.)

The good thing is that particularly since the supermarkets locally have started doing soft plastic recycling, our actual to landfill rubbish is tiny. Last week it wasn't even half a carrier bag.

Did somebody say BINS 😍

Blue - Paper/cardboard
Brown - Plastic/glass
Green - Food/garden
Black - General waste

We have green for general waste, blue for cardboard/plastic/tins and grey for food waste. I don't think you can recycle glass here unless you have a purple bin (we don't) or can get to a public glass recycling point. This has prompted me to check where my nearest one is now we've moved, and there's one quite close by (I was nowhere near any before) :o

I think the old tenant in my flat had the black bin taken off them as I can’t find it AT ALL. I wonder how long I’ll get away with using the others :hafo:

In my last house I paid for a black bin which got robbed the same day I got it. I refused to pay for another, so the council literally advised us to steal one from someone else. We did.

Living on the high street means I get to just THROW IT ALL ON THE STREET every night.

People are paying to have the bins collected? Is that not called ‘council tax’?

We have blue bins for all recycling and green for the rest. Can't make it too complicated otherwise the punters won't bother.

The gardener usually fills it to the brim, and then takes the rest away for me. One bin just IS NOT ENOUGH.

My recycling has to go in a blue bag if I want it to be taken, and they are very hard to find

Though they do collect my trash/recycling every day so I can't complain

The little fuckers are EVERYWHERE today. I blame the green bins, they're not being collected until Wednesday.

On Thursday night I was putting our green bin out so I wheeled it round to the front door then brought the food box from the kitchen to put in it. I opened the bin lid and five million fruit flies swarmed out around me and flew into the hall through the open front door. I've spent weeks being so careful to keep the house free of them and it was all undone by one moment of stupidity. :(

All paper goes in the BLUE BIN here. All other waste goes in the GREEN BIN.

Green bin - food and garden waste - fortnightly collection included in Council Tax
Red bin - cans, bottles and tinfoil - fortnightly collection included in Council Tax
Cream bin - paper and card - fortnightly collection included in Council Tax
Black bin - everything else - fortnightly collection included in Council Tax
