When I was choosing the 'easy' countries, the main criteria I had was the size of the music industry and the availability of songs on Spotify etc. Sweden, UK, USA, France etc. were all obvious easy candidates, but there were others that I classed as 'easy' for different reasons. With Finland, it was the fact that they're well known for certain genres (metal and dance), and they have DECADES of Eurovision acts and national finalists to draw from. With India, it was both the colossal music scene and the diaspora that swung it; there are prominent musicians, singers and producers of Indian descent the world over.

I did almost put Nigeria in as easy using the exact same criteria as India but stopped short. Benevolent God-kind and all that.

I understand that this comes really last minute, but since there are many countries left, many of which would be very fun to play with, could we be given the opportunity to represent a second country if possible and assuming there is consensus and interest upon sth like that?

The recaps have been made now so the actual list of entries is locked in.

What I’m planning to do is run a community playlist the night before the results, and invite everyone to send me songs from this list (plus India, Spain and Finland) to use in it. If you’ve got a song for it, just DM it to me.

I was the opposite, I was super excited about my country but just struggled to find something tolerable. I do actually like my entry mind and suspect it might get points from SOME quarters, but I'm well overdue a flop and this MIGHT BE IT :o

Maybe I was looking in the wrong places. I mean it'll probably happen to loads of people anyway, but I'd quite happily invite people telling me "why didn't you send THIS?" post-reveal.

I LOVE the format however, more please, maybe with all the remaining countries. That means you get to host another one in 2 weeks @ButterTart :disco:

Cameroon is such a gift. Their predilection for monstrous construction and evil is exemplified by First Lady Chantal Biya’s fabulously wretched dictatorial hair. (Also ‘plonked’ atop a snake.)

To be fair, India has always been lacking in most sports.
