We just not bothering with daily threads now? pondered Big Ron Paul at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) last week. He might be on to something. As much as I enjoy the political banter at the Daily Paul, sometimes I find it all a bit too much, like when someone says something and I have no clue what they are talking about (the opposite is true for the opposite side of the aisle, but we’ll save that for another time). That’s why this post will be about some of the best posts I’ve seen on the Daily Paul in years, and in some cases, centuries. Here are my five best posts of 2013.
In this case, the Daily Paul was just right. After the events of September 11, 2001, President George W. Bush told us there was one thing he could not allow: “a single terrorist acting on his or her own.” The president was talking about terrorists who were behind an attack, not terrorists who were merely inspired to act by the attacks on the World Trade Center. “Inspired” is not an illegal act.
In fact, a number of Americans were inspired by the 9/11 attacks. However, “acting on his or her own” is a criminal act, as well as an illegal act. Bush’s argument was that, although terrorism was bad, we should not prosecute terrorists who were not “acting on his or her own.” It’s an argument that makes sense, until you realize that someone who just wants to rob a bank, but is not a member of any underground group that is planning to use a bank robbery to terrorize the community, is nevertheless a criminal. You could make the argument that the bank robber might act on his or her own (the robbery) without joining with other robbers, but this would be an argument that would win in a debate with a law student, not in a debate with the president.

So my UNVACCINATED coworker was supposed to give somebody a ride to work today. But she just asked me if I can, since she has a sore throat. I said yes, but that I don't think she should come to work if she's not feeling well. She told me there is nobody to cover for her, which is probably true, but it makes me kind of uncomfortable to be around someone unvaccinated if they are sick. I know my boss agrees with her, so I'm not sure what to do. If i don't go in, it screws everyone over, but I don't think its really safe for her to.

Do you not get health insurance though work then?
No. Workplaces don’t have to offer it. My parents pay for mine, which I know is a very privileged position to be in. She gets it through her husbands work, but he started a new job this week so his new insurance doesn’t kick in for 2 weeks

That's not entirely true though, she must have also told the guy that she was meant to pick up but decided she wouldn't because she was sick.
And even if she didn't, what were you supposed to say to the guy about her denying to drive him to work herself? Lie?
My understanding is that she was planning to skip work anyways and she is using what you said an an excuse of the type "but I really wanted to come but RJN told me perhaps it would be best not to" which if true is lame and immature.
