ASFM Worldvision: STUNNING SEMI 2! Tonight at 7pm

I think entering Pnau after they won is a bit cheeky, i mean yeah it's a different song but its from the same album and era :o .. but then again, Medina was also on a song recently too (M22 featuring Medina - First Time) so i guess where do you draw the line. I'm more agog that Katie Melua was entered with a pretty well known song.. i'm sure it's come up on here multiple times how it was once a contender to represent the UK at Eurovision before the BBC vexed it ? (Or did i just make this fantasy up?)

Maybe we should have a link to a master list of songs and artists used previously, especially for those who dind' particpate in every round or are new to ASFM and may not know whats come before? After having the chance to crosscheck, if someone insists on still using them, then so be it. I'm sure the sticklers amongst us will end up voting (or not) accordingly.
 
Having not listened to a single song yet I must say WHO CARES if an artist appears more than once? It’s bound to happen now we are on ASFM #20 or whatever with over 40 songs per contest. If you like the song the mark accordingly, if you don’t like the song DON’T FUCKING MARK IT. It’s not ROCKET SCIENCE! I certainly won’t be TRAWLING through a spreadsheet of over 1000 songs to see if an artist has entered before or not. SHEESH!

To be fair, the PNAU person may have had this on their hit list a while. I'm not relenting on my scalding scorn for Gloria's glorious hoochie coochie though as these are supposed to be relatively unknown songs if memory serves :eyes:

Completely agree. One of the lasting memories of this competition for me will always be the disdainful way Solid Gold by Delta Goodrem was treated by voters who wrote off a masterpiece because of what the packaging looked like.

I mean, in many ways she wrote herself off the second she lay with Brian McFadden, but I definitely get your point. There are also two other returning artists in this semi so those in glass houses...
 
I don't have a problem with returning artists! I just was rather given PAUSE by someone submitting a recent ASFM winner with a song that (let's be honest) isn't a million miles away from that one. I'm not saying it's bad or should be against any rule!
 
Unless they dig up a ton of skulls on that golf course or a load of bats come out of the hole, NOT INTERESTED.
